All healers need a time out to allow themselves to regain their energy and inner peace. We wish to help others and grow in our belief in Reiki, but there is a need for healing and being with ourselves.
We all have our own tools on how to go about accomplishing the inner peace and maintaining our wellness. It is important we take the time to accomplish them. For me, a few are nature, painting and writing poetry.
Before I do any of the above, I incorporate Reiki into my plan. While sitting under my favorite tree, I call upon Reiki to be with me. I add Reiki to my canvas before painting and include it while writing my poetry. It is important to slow down and take time to enjoy life with Reiki.
My time out strengthens my self-healing with Reiki. By taking time with Reiki and what gives us pleasure only enhances our ability to give Reiki to others. The following is a poem I have written after spending time with Reiki and nature.
MY FAVORITE TREE
Sitting beneath my favorite tree
enjoying my time with me
gazing upon the carved heart
with the words I Love Me
The scent of Autumn fills the air
my maple’s beauty blazing above
colorful leaves falling about my feet
as I think about the wonder of me
After peaceful time, I open my eyes to see
hummingbirds hovering over me
saying goodbye until the light of Spring
missed they will be until they return to me
I listen to my tree creak and groan
sharing messages for me alone
I gather my things and sigh
hesitant to leave my place of peace
My tree is here whenever in need
encouraging me always to be me
fearing not what others may think
go forth and be who you are to be
Walking down the path towards home
looking back at my nature’s sanctuary
mother bear and her cubs staring at me
it won’t be long before they hibernate
I loved my day with Autumn’s beauty
I carry the wonder of it all with me
holding on to the loving memories
looking forward to the day I return
to be with My Favorite Tree
Writing poetry gives me great pleasure and a sense of well-being. It restores my energy to give Reiki to myself and others Reiki strengthens all we attempt to do and achieve. I hope this article encourages you to pursue your interests and creativity with Reiki.
