Venus Retrograde

As a child, the only thing I knew about Venus is that it’s the 2nd planet in the solar system and it’s Earth’s twin. I grew up and started to get into spirituality I realized she is so much more than Earth’s twin. She is a goddess and rightfully so!

In astrology, Venus is a planet of female energy. As the ruler of Taurus and Libra, it’s tasked with bringing about love and art in all its forms. However, beyond all things, Venus is the planet of pleasure — wherever she transits in our chart, love, attention, and money flow. Venus is a prototype bearing the things we are attracted to and the types of relationships we form through discernment of preference and aesthetics.

When Venus goes into retrograde, just like other retrogrades, the power of the planet is diminished which creates the illusion of backward rotation which we have defined as retrograde. This six weeks’ period which comes once in 18 months uncovers the hidden and dark side of the relationships that we do not wish to acknowledge or have just blindsided for a quest of happily-ever-after.

During this period, we go into deep self-introspection about various issues in our lives but during this period it’s love and money situation. We may face hindrances but on the brighter side, it will give you a wider and fresh perspective about things. It’s time to let go of unhealthy habits that you may have been holding on for a while. Sometimes it’s also necessary to go back and pick up pieces from the past so that we learn from our mistakes and make better choices in the future, most importantly the choices that work for us.

So, what should we do when Venus is taking a 6 weeks moonwalking session?

• Declutter your clothes. If it doesn’t bring you joy, let it go!
• Start thinking about the changes you would like to bring in your lives shortly.
• Reconnect with old friends and family (not ex-partners) with whom you had unresolved issues.
• Reconsider your point of view that you have been holding sacred more than your own life, read and listen to other people’s opinions without judgment.
• Check on your investments regularly but do not make a shift or change in strategies yet.
• Send Reiki or other healing energies to Venus for a smoother period.
• Carrying crystals like Rose Quartz, Emerald, Rhodonite, Chrysocolla, Celestite, Citrine, Amber, Cinnabar, Spessartine Garnet, Opal, Prasiolite (all/few/one, it’s your choice) which are cleansed and charged will also help during this period.
• Do not panic, keep calm, and know that beautiful things are coming in your life.
• One may also liberally use the emotional symbol during this period.

• May 12, 2020, at 21°50′ Gemini
• December 19, 2021, at 26°29′ Capricorn
• July 22, 2023, at 28°36′ Leo
• March 1, 2025, at 10°50′ Aries
