Dear Reiki Channels,
Here are a few guidelines to help ourselves and our loved ones to deal with the stress of COVID – 19 lockdown:
- Take a break – Taking care of yourself first to become better healers and energy generator/conduit of Reiki. Do not try to heal others until and unless you have strengthened your daily practice, even if you feel you should do it. Take a pause and go for self-healing or else you might fall sick. Also take a pause from healing others, except your own child or spouse, or someone staying under the same roof.
Strengthen your Reiki practice:- Self-healing – once in a day (all major chakra front and back spleen chakra)
- Meditation – one may do it any time; don’t be rigid, it’s better to do it any time rather than not doing it at all.
- Do not act bold because you are healer but be patient and calm. We all have self-defense mechanisms to some extent so if you are a Master Teacher, attune your child, spouse, your relatives, friends, health workers, and ask them to do self-healing daily. We all are sailing on the same boat and unless we are aware spiritually, we can not deal with the crisis.
- Sexual Health is also part of our mental health. Our body defense mechanism is based upon our overall sexual health too. We can’t restrict and restrain. Hence, do meditation and ask your partner to meditate along with you before intimate moments only if both the partners are in a safe zone and not infected or positive with the COVD -19 laboratory test.
- Use the knowledge provided by any other healing modality you resonate with if necessary. It’s a good idea to try something new in a holistic way. If other techniques like Ayurveda, EFT, NLP or Pranic Healing are working for you, then go ahead and use them. Anyone is free to try anything that works best for them right now. Rigidity doesn’t work here.
- Call for assistance from your close circle of Reiki practitioners or health practitioners if needed whom you trust completely or with whom you daily meditate.
- Distance Reiki Sessions are rather safe for all of us. Make sure you invoke the divine blessings of higher beings before healing sessions and cut cords once you finish the healing session even if you are healing through Reiki intention box.
- Physical exercise and breathing techniques are important. Do some warm-up physical exercise before one starts with self-healing. We all have less work to do due to nationwide lockdown so you can add breathing techniques like pranayama, simple exercises at home, that are highly beneficial before and after Reiki or meditation; when done on daily basis, rejuvenate us.
- It is good to include a Sattvic diet or a Yogic diet for now.
- Sattvic/Yogic Diet – it’s a diet that is wholly conducive to the practice of Yoga and spiritual progress. Diet has an intimate connection with the mind. The mind is formed out of the subtlest portion of food. Food plays an important part in meditation. Different foods produce different effects on different compartments of the brain. For purposes of meditation, the food should be light, nutritious and Sattvic. Milk, fruits, almonds, butter, sugar-candy, green gram, Bengal gram soaked in water overnight, bread, etc., are all very helpful in meditation. Thed (radish, carrot, turnip) is very Sattvic. Tea and sugar should be used in moderation. It’s better if you can give them up entirely. Dried ginger-powder can be mixed with milk and taken frequently. Emblic Myrobalan (Amla) always keeps you at balance and it’s cheerful and enthusiastic in supporting your wellbeing. It preserves semen and stops all nocturnal emissions. Potato, boiled without salt or baked on fire, is also an excellent food for practitioners.
What more we can do to strengthen the self-healing practice on a daily basis:
- Salt Bath – take a normal salt mix, lavender oil or sandal oil. After you take a shower/ bath with soap, apply all over the body and wash it after 4 to 5 mins later.
- Homemade hand sanitizer – if sanitizer is not available to buy, you can make it at your home. Buy vodka without flavor, 70% vodka + 30% water, add few drops of aroma oils for better effect (preferably lavender oil).
- Manage your emotions – emotional outburst lowers our immune system; cultivate gratitude towards the people around you.
- Breathing exercise – helps to raise the level of prana in our body, hence strengthen our immune system.
- Sun exposure – make a conscious effort to take sunbath for 5 minutes once or twice a week.
- Clean home – moping floor with salt water, listen to OM mantra at your home to keep it clean and vibrate at a high level all the time.
- Meditate – meditate and bless the people who are suffering, create good karma for yourself and your family to remain protected and safe.
- Express gratitude – maintain a list of gratitude toward each and every thing you have in life in terms of financial benefits, amenities, relationship, health, surroundings/environment/people around you/people who are serving the community, especially sweepers/medical practitioners/ healers/cops on patrol/all professionals on essential duties.
- Forgiveness prayers – to release past issues, criticism, hatred, guilt, fear, agony, jealousy.
- Chant Mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum” – for health, wealth, prosperity, and overall wellbeing.
Prevention is better than cure.
