The information about the influence of Reiki in Multiple Sclerosis is rather limited and, as a friend of mine has been suffering from it, for more than ten years, I decided to attune him to Reiki in order to help him with his condition and, at the same time, have the opportunity to learn a little bit more about the interaction Reiki/Multiple Sclerosis.
Multiple Sclerosis is a very incapacitating neurological, chronical and self-immune disease attacking and destroying myelin (an insulating protection of the axons). Due to this demyelization, MS affects the capacity of the nervous cells of the brain and spinal cord to communicate between them in the proper way, thus resulting in brain and spinal cord lesions and in the interruption of the nervous stimulus.
The cause of the disease is unknown and there is no cure. MS symptoms are, fatigue, depression, muscular weakness, alteration of the equilibrium of movement coordination, articular pain as well as belly and bowels dysfunction.
I have to confess that I have placed no expectations about a possible remission or even the halt of the degenerative process but, every improvement in the quality of life will be great.
After the attunement in Level I, he started to feel less paresthesia in the legs and felt more balanced. Also, his strength and flexibility have improved a little bit.
Presently he has been attuned to Level II and continues to follow regular Reiki treatments, also, he treats the injection, he has to take weekly and, as expected, there were some improvement in the situation:
- The pain associated with the injection has practically disappeared;
- The side effects of the injection have been significantly reduced;
- He sleeps more;
- He feels to be, globally, more balanced.
It is still early to have any feedback on the disease evolution but the improvements felt result in a better quality of life.
Notwithstanding the above, he still suffers with the weather variations. Unfortunately, he lives far away from me and it is not possible to have a hands-on experience and follow some alternative sequences, also the study of the use of crystals will eventually be undertaken.
When dealing with self-immune diseases, we tend to fear that the strengthening of the immune system may have a negative impact in the evolution of the disease but, so far, and as well as it happened with the study I undertook on Rheumatoid Arthritis, there was no evidence of that.
At the end of February or in Easter I intend to attune him to Level III-A and expect that the Dai Ko Myo will be of further help and, if further improvements are felt, I will update the information.
