Reiki and “Death”

I have professed my love for tarot and oracle cards in various articles, hence I thought of sharing my love for the “dark” cards of tarot, and how I use those energies with help of Reiki.

The 13th card of the Tarot is the beautiful card of “Death”. Mostly termed as “negative” by readers, the card is more than it meets the eye! The general meaning of the card is transformation, or ending of a journey, be it spiritual, physical or emotional. It’s said the change is never easy, but is necessary for our development. The card is all about letting go of things which do not serve you. If you don’t let things go, the universe will intervene and bring things to an end! This card is a card of passion. Yes, you read it right, a card of passion, the passion to change the way you think, behave or feel so that new and better things come in your life, and comes now!

The Lord of Death, called as “Yamraja” as per Hindu text is Archangel Azrael. He is generally called upon, for a smooth transition from the physical plane to go back to the origin, for souls who have passed away or those who would pass away soon. He also provides soothing energy to people who have suffered from an irreplaceable loss in their lives, only to make them understand nothing is permanent, and hence everything is replaceable. That is the death card a lot about, to make you understand, with every end there is a new beginning, and everything happens for a reason, let better things come in your life.

The crystal associated with the Death card is Crocite. This crystal helps us to focus more on the positive aspect of the transformation then the difficulty in the journey. Death card is all about chance! You have the chance leave behind everything that brings your energies down. Focus on the new possibilities and the plethora of opportunities that the universe has to offer, instead of clinging on to your old habits, fears, beliefs. Yes arguably you are very comfortable in your current zone, but you know how the book will end, and it is not a happy ending, if it bogs you down. Release all resistance to change now, and see how beautiful life turns out to be.

Everything that is born or started has to come to an end, even this article will come to an end, and you will read something else. Death is just one aspect of the ever-changing eternal reality. Instead of losing sleep over the negativity of the card focus on how beneath all this flesh and blood is a skeleton, which is our true appearance. Use this card to overcome fear and tap into your highest potential.

Combine Reiki with “Death”

1. Sit in a meditative position, and take 3 deep breaths.
2. Activate Reiki (use symbols if you are attuned to Reiki level  2 or above)
3. Keep the “Death” card in front of you and light a black and a white candle (optional)
4. Give Reiki to the card with the intention, of all the things that you want to end or transform, or let go off things/situations/people which does not serve you any purpose.
5. After 20 minutes of healing, carry the card along with yourself for 7 days. You will see slight or drastic movements in your life based on the intensity and things shall move for better!
