All of us are faced with many decisions every day – When do I need to get up? Can I hit the snooze button on my alarm? What should I eat for breakfast? Is there enough gas in my car? The day is off and running! These decisions are usually easy. But, we are also faced with bigger, and more difficult, decisions in our lives. Reiki can help us to face these head-on and make good decisions for ourselves.
When a major life decision needs to be made, call upon the Reiki energies to assist in the process. Feelings of being overwhelmed, or fear of making the wrong decision, can dissipate. These feelings can be replaced with calmness and confidence.
Here is a process that works:
1. Find a quiet place, calm yourself and send Reiki to the decision to be made.
2. On a sheet of paper, write the pro’s and con’s of each option.
3. Rate the importance of each item, from 1 – 10, with 10 being the highest level of importance in your life.
4. Add the scores, and check to see if the score in each option resonates with you. If something feels incorrect, review each item and revise where needed. Add the scores again.
5. Ask for spiritual guidance to make the right decision for the highest good of you and others affected by the decision.
Many of us have written pro’s and con’s lists previously, but we have discarded this practice as it was not helpful. Usually, we counted the number of items in each column and chose the one with the most. The difference in this process is the rating of each item. For example, there may only be two items in the pro column vs. seven items in the con column. The decision seemed obvious. However, if the importance of each item was rated, the outcome may have been different.
Let’s look at the following example. Marcia has enjoyed having her own Reiki practice, in one small room she rented; other renters in the building were accountants and a small housecleaning business. She has the opportunity to join other Reiki and healing professionals in a large practice; monthly expenses will be much less, as treatment rooms are shared. When she made her pro’s and con’s list, the long list of pro’s in joining others seemed to be the obvious choice. What she did not consider, however, was how essential it was in her busy life to have the flexibility of being the only practitioner in her space – she could schedule sessions any time she had availability. This flexibility would have been a “10”, but she did not realize the importance of this factor. She joined the group practice, but left as soon as her agreement ended. She then rented another small space.
When we have major decisions in our lives, we truly use every aspect of our being – mind/emotions, body and spirit. Reiki brings energies to each aspect of ourselves. We are able to “clear” our pre-conceived notions and old beliefs to approach each situation with a heightened sense of clarity and purpose. Every time we use Reiki, our level of consciousness is raised, and our views have expanded. For Marcia, she did not see the group practice as a mistake. Rather, she viewed it as a lesson learned and is more thoughtful when major decisions need to be made.
With frequent Reiki practice, life becomes easier. This does not mean that we will no longer face challenges. What it means is we deal with life’s complexities with a new sense of ease. Even when it seems our decisions are “wrong,” we view these in a new light. We can see the lessons we learned, and new ways of being. We give gratitude for the tough times in our lives, and Reiki fills us with peace and joy.
