There are times when all of us feel sad and upset. Conflicts and misunderstandings lead to rifts in relationships. Harmless discussions often turn into a horrendous battle of words and drain people of energy. We are all humans and it is common for most of us to experience such happenings at some point in our lives. We then go into a downward spiral of feeling unloved, misunderstood and pained. These are all manifestations of our lower self which is also referred to as the ‘Ego.’
When our consciousness is not evolved enough, we operate more from our egoic or lower self. Therefore, we are likely to hold grudges against the people who seemingly hurt us with their words and actions. Some of us may even carry these grudges for years. This heavy energy then blocks the Heart chakra and hinders the free flow of love.
But once we tread the Reiki path, we start evolving in consciousness. We begin to learn that we have a choice in the matter. We can choose ego and respond from a lower level of consciousness or we can choose love and respond from a higher level of consciousness. This does not indicate that we endorse unkind behaviour. It means that we refuse to let such behaviour block our natural ability to love. But before we learn about responding with love to others, we will need to heal the wounds lodged within our own hearts. Unless we have compassion for ourselves first, we will not be able to extend that compassion to others. We cannot force ourselves to become compassionate. We can only be compassionate if it stems naturally from within us. And it will stem naturally only when our own heart is healed and open.
Over the years, I discovered and experienced that though the heart may be the centre of love, the entire body responds positively when we extend love and compassion to ourselves. This is no surprise as we all know that every part of our body is connected to every other part. We are also aware that there is a strong connection between our physical and energy bodies. So, the energy of love works simultaneously on all our different bodies, starting from the physical.
Rose quartz is one beautiful crystal that radiates the frequency of love. It helps anyone who is working on healing the heart. It has been one of my favourite crystals for years. And I must acknowledge that this gentle crystal has brought immense healing to me. This crystal has a gentle yet powerful vibration.
I often place different crystals near me when I practise Reiki self healing. It so happened that one day I had a sphere of rose quartz near me. As I was practising, I was guided to gently move the sphere over each of the seven chakra areas and not the heart chakra alone. Following this guidance, I began to move the sphere gently over each of the chakra points. On the physical level, the crystal’s energy brought a sense of peace and relaxation to my body. On the spiritual level, it brought about a deeper healing to my soul. As this gentle crystal glided over my chakras, I could sense all fear and ego energies being transformed into love. I followed this up with a full body Reiki healing and ended up feeling light, joyous and vibrant. Since that day, I have indulged in this practice several times and it feels wonderful each time. It is especially helpful when we find ourselves feeling sad, unloved and anything else that is connected to the heart.
Rose quartz can help us get in touch with the higher energy of love and it can help us heal. Since it is tangible, it also brings an immediate sense of comfort as we clutch it in our palms or place it over the chakras. This helps us to instantaneously release any pain we may be experiencing and transform it into love. In the long run, working with rose quartz brings about a gentle healing of the Heart chakra and helps clear it of all accumulated pain from the past. We realise this is hindsight when we find that we have become more loving and compassionate, to ourselves as well as to everyone around us. This state of love and compassion feels natural and not forced.
Reiki practice eventually leads us to the point where we must work on healing our hearts. There are many ways to heal the heart and working with rose quartz is just one among those many ways. If you resonate with it, do give it a try. The technique I shared is just to give you an idea of how rose quartz can help. Experiment with it and work with it as you feel guided to. As you work on healing your heart, one day you will find that you are able to radiate love and compassion effortlessly. That is the day you can be certain that your heart is healed, whole, open and in its natural state of free flowing love!
