“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” – Franklin D Roosevelt
Anxiety by definition, is an emotion characterised by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil often accompanied by nervous behaviour. Anxiety is always the expectation of a future threat. Anxiety is not the same as fear. Where fear is the perceived threat of a present situation, anxiety is the fear of something that is yet to come, something that we think could happen. This could involve an upcoming job interview, having to talk to somebody you detest, a stressful situation etc.
Every ailment, be it physical or emotional, has a direct correlation with any or all of our chakras. Like wise, I would like to present how anxiety and the third eye chakra are related.
The mantra of the Third Eye chakra is “I see”. Here the Ajna chakra deals with seeing beyond the ordinary, more than what our physical senses can see and perceive. The Ajna chakra is the centre of our intuition and psychic abilities. To become open to use any of the clairs, the opening and understanding of the Third Eye chakra is important.
Having anxiety is one clear sign of having a blocked or unbalanced Third Eye chakra. As I stated earlier, anxiety is fear of a future threat. As you became spiritually inclined the first thing you understand is, you let things happen by themselves and go with the flow. Fear only blocks this natural flow, resulting in an imbalance of the Ajna chakra.
When your Third Eye chakra is balanced, you are able to trust what is to come. Psychic abilities are naturally gifted to us, and we will always have our intuition guiding us on how to go about living our life. Once you start listening to your intuition, you will realise stressing over an event that is yet to happen is unnecessary. Instead of the fear, you can plan on how to tackle the situation and make things better.
Below are a few ways in which you can balance the Ajna chakra
- You can simply give it Reiki for a few minutes daily. While giving it Reiki request the Universe to open up your third eye for your highest good.
- Another way would be to draw the Usui Master symbol and look at it for a few seconds. Then, close your eyes and visualize it in your third eye. This exercise should be done only for a few seconds initially, as it can cause light headaches.
- This is another method that I follow. Take a deep breath. Close your eyes, and look up at the third eye chakra. Visualize a tiny chakra there and just concentrate. Do this only for 3-5 seconds, as it will strain your third eye. This method will be easier if you are a clairvoyant.
Anxiety can stem from childhood incidents, or you may feel anxious only in interacting with some people or in some situations. You can Reiki all of these situations and see the change that it brings.
Anxiety, if way too severe will need medical attention. Otherwise a simple understanding of the cause will make it easier.

Thanks rads 🙂
Thanks for this valuable information. I will definitely try it out, as I knw my third eye Chakra is blocked, due to which I am suffering from hyperthyroid.
Hi Aparna. Thyroid is mainly due to the blockage or imbalance of the throat chakra. It is said that, if the throat chakra is blocked, there is a good chance that the immediate two chakras will be affected too. In your case that will be the heart chakra and third eye chakra. So it will be very helpful to treat these two chakras too. 🙂 I am glad you found my article helpful 🙂 love and light to you .
Wow.. great article Shwetha…
Thank you so much Vedant 🙂
