The term “Archangel” means “An Angel of higher kind.”
The Archangels take care of people by strengthening and assisting them in every walk of life. They do not believe in any particular religion, caste or creed, and help us to heal or get healed if called upon with a pure heart. But it’s very important we keep in mind that they do not interfere in our Karma. There are Four Primary Archangels who are associated with the four main Usui Symbols. They are Archangel Michael, Archangel Gabriel, Archangel Rafael and Archangel Uriel.
Michael – “Who is Like God”
He is in charge of protection, justice, truth.
Michael grants miracles and gets rid of toxins, lower energies and spirit release.
Michael is associated with the Dai Ko Myo
He also oversees a healer’s life purpose.
Call on Michael if you find yourself under psychic attack or when your job is too demanding with impossible.
Deadlines to reach and people to handle.
Gabriel – “Messenger of God”
The only female Archangel in charge of communication.
Contact Gabriel: If your third eye is closed.
If you want a child she may help you conceive or bring news of conception.
Gabriel represents CHO – KU – REI
Helps to stay on life path and know soul’s plan.
Gabriel is also very helpful for women who have been raped.
She resembles white and purple light.
Raphael – “God heals“
Raphael is an archangel that takes great interest in helping those who ask.
Helps us to be better healers.
Raphael grants, love, miracles and grace.
Raphael represents Sei –hei- ki
He is the most friendly & jovial of all Angels, and is sweet and loving.
His color is green light.
Call upon Raphael when you are traveling.
Raphael not only helps you to heal from physical, emotional and mental pain.
He also heals wounds from past lives & childhood trauma.
Raphael helps with is finding lost pets and even lost soul mates. Can help in marriages.
Uriel – “The Light of God“
Uriel is the wisest Archangel because of his intellectual information and geniusness in problem solving.
He is very subtle and he answers prayers in sudden brilliant ways.
Uriel heals all natural calamities and the Earth.
He is an angel of Transformation & Transmutation.
Call on him to release the painful burdens and memories of the past.
His color is golden light.

Any Reiki Master who is attuned to Angel Reiki can attune you. You can call upon and meditate on them too 🙂
A personal note…. Its when My master and I got attuned to Angel Reiki we understood the true sacredness of it.
I am still new to Reiki. I am Reiki II level but still feel new. I have called upon Archangel Michael and I started to make my own entourage for practicing my Reiki. I just did it with my gut and looking forward to using other archangels. Does anyone have any suggestions on keeping your Reiki strong. I have an infant and a toddler and my Reiki sometimes has to get put aside. I have practiced on my children when they have agreed to receiving it.

For your children you can call upon Archangel Gabriel and Rahphael. They will protect your children from all psychic and physical attacks. If you have time for 5 minutes with the distance symbol connect to any of the descended masters or Angels and start giving Reiki to them. This not only amplifies your Reiki but also works as a self healing method. hope this helps 🙂

WoW thanks. so what you are telling me is to do the long distance Reiki to Archangels and what descended masters do you Rec’mnd? I have never heard of that. When I rec’vd attumnet for Reiki II I didn’t receive much information on long distance. She gave me the info but I didn’t get much description. I have been educating myself really.

Hi, Yes I am asking you to give distance healing to Archangels. You can give Reiki to any master you would like to ex:Dr. Usui or Mrs. Takata even for to Jesus! You have lots of them to work with 🙂 I generally give Reiki to Lord Buddha and my sister to Jesus :).
Does this mean that when we use certain symbols that we have asked for a connection with that particular Angel?

No its not necessary to use certain symbols tog call upon the Archangels. You can just call them with a clear heart and they will respond. 🙂

You can call upon the Arch Angels by simply praying and calling their name or connecting to them with the help of the distance healing symbol. Keep your hand in Gasho (Namaste) position with your thumbs touching to your third eye and after sometime you feel feel their presence. Always Thank them for their presence when you see and hear them.

Thank You for your kind words :), We can call upon the Angels by connecting to them with the distance healing symbol or we can just keep our hands in gasho (namaste) position and request for their presence. To answer your second question how much time you should do this, Its totally up to you, rely on your intuition. Once you are done with your Reiki session thank the angels for their presence and guidance and they go back. No harm though if they stay with us right? 🙂 We can call as many angels as we may please at a time.

Great information.
Although reading through the thread, there are some misconceptions.
EVERY person on the planet can work with Archangels for themselves or for the highest good of others (if it isn’t for their highest good, but your idea of that, it won’t work…). You do not need to be attuned to anything, you do not need to learn anything, you are connected to Angels already. They are all around you. Waiting for you to ask for their help and guidance. Communicate with your Guardian Angel, your spirit guides and Archangels of the realm. With time you will get to know them and what they can be utilised for.
There are plenty of sources of information as to who the Archangels are, and what their roles are. Sources of information vary depending on different religions or non religions – my advice would be to study all. Communicate with them and discover the full truth yourself.
If you are attuned to Reiki – you can ask your guides, your guardian angels and all or any of the Archangels to assist you or work you when healing, for the highest good of the recipient. There is NO requirement to be attuned to something else add this to your Reiki practice.

If you have not practiced first level for a year or more, i suggest you take a reattunement, else practice level one again for a month and then get attuned to level 2.

You can just request him with an open heart to support you in your healing work, just like you start your reiki with an attitude of gratitude. There is no such technical way as to what to do first. Ask and it is done.
I seek the assistance of Archangel Michael in my energy clearing work and my job gets done in a few moments which would otherwise have taken longer time to clear.

Very nice article. I am at reiki level1 . But happened to go through Reiki rays . My son just loves when I Call upon Archangel Michael and Raphael to heal him . We changed his school and was full of pain and sorrow. Surprisingly he wakes up next day with full vigour. My doubt is can I call upon for small problems like this. I saw remarkable change in my daughter too. I do reiki on my kids too daily while they go yo bed.

my job requires me to fly a lot because i work for an airline. Paradoxically, I am not a very comfortable flyer – one can even say I am slightly phobic… I am anxious weeks before the flights date and the night before is extremely difficult for me to stay calm.
Before my last flight ( over 14 hours in a plane …woohoo!!! ), I came accross a reiki exercise and prayer calling upon archangel Michael to fill me with calm and trust. I did it, truthfully just willingly doing anything that would help me calm down.
Result ?
This was the smoothest, most comfortable I had ever been on a plane. I slept for most of it, relaxed and faithful, even finding myself understanding what noise was what as it was going on. There was sometimes strong turbulence, even slept through that or comfortably noticed how the plane was shaking but still somehow being carried by some invisible force, at some point we dropped quite a bit and i felt how a sort of air cushion ‘ caught’ the plane and pulled us back up – that was actually my favorite part of the entire flight. I understand I was in the hands of very good pilots and aerodynamics but this time those thoughts were stronger than the fear voice.
I had called up on angels to fly with me many times and had managed to go through every flight this way. But this time was different, I enjoyed it, as a matter of fact i look forward to the next one in 2 days.

I have been a Reiki Master since 2011 but it has only been in the 9 months the angels are coming through. This was unexpected and now I feel as though I am trying to “catch up” to better understand. This is more a question than a comment. I am very confused that Gabriel is referred to as “she.” I have never heard that before, and in my experience, Gabriel is a male name. Are there traditions somewhere (if so, where, please?) that this Archangel is seen as female?

I’m confused about archangels and their place in Reiki. From my understanding archangels are figures from organized religions (specifically from Christianity) but Reiki is a form of non-religious energy healing that was started by Buddhist monk from Japan. How do the 2 relate? Is this a branch of Reiki that someone has created? Just curious how the 2 came to be, just like the intersect between Reiki and Chakras. I didn’t really find anything on the internet. Thanks

I however sometimes wonder why people give importance to rituals and not intent. Maybe it’s what our (every) religion teaches us.
Intent and belief is the most important ingredient of any form of divine healing. A powerful belief and healing intent is a must…. You may call any angel by any name :)… They are simply – divine.
Why I say this is because people have been brought up with their religious belief and the name of angels may well be someone they relate to. One can and should modify to get better intuitive guidance.
