Energy balls are also called chi balls and some people call them Reiki balls when using them with Reiki energy. I have found energy balls to be very useful in combination with Reiki. They can be used to help send an energy boost at a distance, to charge a room with long term Reiki, slowly releasing Reiki energy, or to “hold” slow releasing energy for a specific person or issue until the right time for it to release, for the greater good.
Broadly speaking, an energy ball is a mass of electro magnetically charged energy that is filled with an intention. That sounds pretty high tech, but really it just means you are rolling a ball of energy in between your hands and sending thought and intention into the ball. It is very simple. We send the intentions for Reiki to be activated into the ball, much as we would have those intentions when we are doing distant Reiki or even when working in person with a client.
Bring to mind the intention for which you are making the ball. For example, if you are making an energy ball to send to a future appointment for a stressed loved one, then intend healing for the highest good in that situation.
To start the ball, hold your hands close together, palm to palm. Ask Reiki to flow and begin to feel the energy. Rub your hands together for a second or two, if this feels right to you. Move your hands about an inch apart and notice the pull of energy between them. Now move them closer together and notice the pushing sensation. Much of that is your own energy field. You may also be feeling warmth and tingling or pulsing sensations as the Reiki flows through your hands. A few practitioners don’t notice these sensations, especially at first or if they don’t practice regularly. Don’t worry if you don’t feel it. Nothing is wrong and the Reiki energy ball will still work! Like all things, Reiki takes practice and working with it, so practice this and you will soon notice the effects of your energy balls.
Turn your hands so that one hand is on top of the other, fingertips to the opposite wrist, in front of the lower belly. Cup your hands slightly as if you are holding a ball. Notice any energy pulsing sensations and begin rotating your hands in opposite directions, as if shaping and molding a ball. The top hand will rotate in a clockwise direction and the bottom hand will rotate in a counter-clockwise direction. Think of any symbols you wish to use, choosing whichever ones might be most appropriate for the person or situation you are sending the energy healing ball to. It is not necessary to use any healing symbols at all. I have successfully used Reiki balls even while I was a Level 1 practitioner and many other times when I chose not to use symbols. If you choose to use symbols, you can simply think the symbols, draw them with your tongue on the roof of your mouth or say their name silently or aloud. They will activate with intention. Intend that any chosen symbols are now sent into the energy ball and ask that they assist it in its healing. Spend a moment sealing and blessing the healing. Give gratitude to Reiki, the Divine and your guides and angels for any assistance in this healing.
Lastly, “push” the energy ball into whatever you are intending to heal. If it is meant for yourself, push it into your own body. For another, push it into or toward them. For a situation, you can push it in the general direction that you believe the situation will occur in. For a room, you can push the ball into a wall, floor, ceiling or door to bless the room and ask for long term Reiki healing and protection to release as needed from the ball.
Most anything can benefit from a Reiki ball! Use your imagination and think of the ways you can ask Reiki and energy balls to assist you in your daily life!

This article has got me thinking on creating energy balls. When I first saw the link from a related article of yours, my first thought was physical balls being made. After reading it, I still feel it may be a thing to think about for blessing a room. I am planning on finding something I can send the Reiki energy into and then hang in a room to provide the long lasting flow of Reiki energy. Keep up the great information. Angie.
