I first met Barron by chance (or so I thought) at a neighbor’s house last year. He was a beautiful, young, spirited Arabian full of life but with a crazed look in his eye. He had so many strange personality quirks that the neighborhood was split as to whether he would live his life peacefully in a field or would better off be sent to a food mill. Barron’s owner was of the opinion that he was just a “special” horse with one of the lowest I.Q.’s he had ever seen.
Barron’s Personality Traits:
- Did not always get along with other horses
- Sometimes ride able, sometimes not
- Would often get lost if he walked 15ft or more away from his water bucket
- Sometimes he would like to be pet and sometimes he would shun any attention
- Would sometimes have trouble eating or grasping food in his mouth
I am lucky enough in that I am usually able to get a pretty quick read on what is bothering an animal. With Barron however I came across something that I had not experienced up until this point before. When I tried to communicate with him I got nothing. It was like looking at a void or blank space. On the outside he looked like a normal beautiful horse, but on the inside nothing was there. There was nothing present for me to communicate with. It was beyond strange and unlike anything that I had ever experienced before.
About a week after this first encounter I decided to try and communicate with Barron again. This time I had a bit more success. I picked up that he had a major anxiety problem and would often times leave his body. He did indeed have some intelligence but when an anxiety attack would come on (just as in people) the anxiety would take over and his brain could no longer process what he should be doing. His erratic behavior matched this and I decided to watch him further and attempt a Reiki session. Unfortunately, he wanted nothing to do with Reiki and stormed off whenever I tried. I decided to give this horse some space and hoped that in the future he might be more open to receive Reiki.
One day a few months later I stopped by to check on him while passing by his home. There was something different about him that day. I could tell that he was fully present and he kept rubbing against my hands with a ferocity that I had never experienced with this horse before. It was almost as if he was asking me to immediately begin a Reiki session with him. I decided to try out a session. To my amazement it was exactly what he wanted and the session lasted almost 20min. This amount of time is not a long session for adults but for a horse that would normally run off whenever Reiki was attempted this was truly something!
From this point on I gave Barron Reiki treatments about 3 times a week. He was not always happy to receive them and would not always allow it. However, more often than not the sessions were a success. After a few months of treatment Barron showed remarkable improvement in all areas. His anxiety level has dropped substantially. He now eats normally, gets along much better with other horses and does not get lost. Although he is still not what I would call a typical horse Reiki has brought huge improvements to him and to his quality of life. It is my hope that with continued treatment Barron will continue to stay present in his body and make even more improvements. It has been such a joy to watch Reiki work its wonders on this “special” Arabian horse.
Wishing you all love and light.

You’re welcome <3
Thank you for testimony.. I am Reiki master living in French Guiana. A friend of mine asked me if I could do some Reiki to her beautiful horse called DIOR. He had a very bad tumor and was in deep pain. I never had done Reiki healing on a horse. It had been the most beautiful experience of my life… and a beautiful love story between the horse and myself then while doing him a healing session l I received a message telling me to let him go.. he died a year ago but he is alive forever in my heart.
Thank you for sharing Carole. 🙂
