Handwashing is considered the most important measure to prevent the spread of infection. But did you know that it also serves another purpose that 99.9% of the world is unaware of?
Each day, we make hundreds of connections with others in the world. As the world gets smaller with the use of social media, Facebook, Twitter, etc – these connections start to grow in number. Where there used to be connection with one or two friends each day, now we can see instant connections with hundreds or thousands of our “friends/followers”.
Each connection we make, there is an energy transfer from one person to another. Our brains cannot differentiate the difference between “Us” and “Them”. And as a result, our energy is drained from us in a “death by a thousand knives” comparison. It’s no wonder that most of us can barely move through a day, let alone a week without consciously closing off these connections.
Our two biggest senses that trigger us to create connections are our hands and our eyes. When we consciously understand how we create inadvertent connections, we can use the solutions outlined below to restore our states of optimum energy with no connected energetic cords.
Conscious, deliberate hand washing in cold or cool water helps to release and discharge any energy connection that you have made that day. It is even great to do in the morning when waking, to discharge any energetic influences that were made while sleeping.
Handwashing plays a HUGE part in Reiki Treatments.
After completing a Reiki session, it is recommended to wash your hands in cold/cool water for 30 seconds – intending that all connections are released and removed from your auric body. If not completed, your client could end up draining you over the course of a day or night!
As a Reiki Master-Teacher, it is imperative that you wash your hands after each attunement to create a break in the energy between you and the student. It is also recommended that the students wash their hands as well after attunements.
For obvious reason, washing your eyes out with soap is not recommended. However, gentle regular cleansing in the morning or night with warm-ish water and washcloth is recommended. Simply hold the washcloth that you’ve infused with Reiki over your closed eyes, without forcing water into the eyes. Intend for your eyes to become “Cleansed and Cleared of all inharmonious vibrations”.
In addition to this, you can also use an eye mask that you’ve infused with Reiki, or even use cucumber slices that you’ve infused with Reiki. Again, hold these objects in your cleansed hands and send gentle Reiki healing to them over 30 seconds to a minute, with the intention of “Clearing and Cleansing”. Then place it over your eyes and relax for anywhere between a minute to 20 minutes while you do Reiki on your head and throat.
As well, if you wear contacts or glasses in your daily life, it is recommended that you hold them in your hands (in the case of contacts, put them in the case – then hold them!) and send gentle Reiki healing to them over the course of 30 seconds to a minute, with the intention of “Clearing and Cleansing”. This will help to harmonically break any connection that these objects have made on your behalf each day.
