As a Reiki master, I often use visualization techniques as a regular part of my self-Reiki practice. Visualization is a powerful tool that can be used to focus your intention and channel Reiki energy to specific areas of your body or energy field. In this article, I will share three visualization techniques that I use in my self-Reiki practice.
1. Visualizing a Reiki Bubble
Visualizing a Reiki bubble is a simple but effective technique that can help you create a protective shield around yourself. This visualization can be done anywhere and is helpful when you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or just need to create a sense of safety and security around yourself. As an empath, I use this technique most often to shield myself from the energy of others when I am in crowded spaces.
To establish a Reiki Bubble, simply take a few deep breaths to center yourself as much as possible. Imagine that a beautiful bubble of light surrounds you. Imagine that this bubble is made of pure Reiki energy and that it’s protecting you from any negative energy or influences.
As you continue to visualize the bubble, you may notice that it begins to change color or shape. You might also feel a sense of warmth or tingling as the Reiki energy flows through you. Allow yourself to relax and experience the protection and safety of the Reiki Bubble.
You can keep imagining this Reiki Bubble surrounding you throughout the day, giving you continual support and protection.

2. Mental Full Reiki Treatment
Mentally giving yourself a full Reiki treatment is a technique that allows you to focus on all the traditional hand positions without physically touching your body. This technique is great for when you are unable to perform a full self-Reiki treatment. I use it often when I do not have a private space to perform a hands-on Self-Reiki session.
To start, sit or lie down and take a few deep breaths to center yourself. Close your eyes and visualize yourself lying down on a Reiki table. Imagine that your hands are gently placed on each of the traditional Reiki hand positions, starting at your head and working your way down your body.
As you visualize each hand position, focus on channeling Reiki energy into that area of your body. You may feel a sense of warmth or tingling as the Reiki energy flows through you. Allow yourself to relax and let the Reiki do its work.
When you’re ready to end the visualization, take a few deep breaths and slowly open your eyes. You should feel a sense of calm and relaxation.
3. Inner Body Visualization
The inner body visualization technique is a great way to explore your body and offer Reiki to any areas of concern. This technique can be helpful when you’re experiencing physical or emotional pain, or when you just want to connect more deeply with your body.
It will be helpful to familiarize yourself with your physical anatomy before this practice. When you feel ready, find a quiet and comfortable space where you won’t be interrupted. Sit or lie down and take a few deep breaths to center yourself. Close your eyes and visualize yourself as a tiny explorer within your own body. Imagine exploring your entire body, including your organs, bones, tissues, and energy field.
As you focus on each area of your body, imagine that you’re offering Reiki energy to that area. You may notice that certain areas need more attention than others. You may also notice that certain emotions or memories come up as you explore your inner body. Allow yourself to stay present with whatever arises, offering Reiki energy to any areas that need it.
When you’re ready to end the visualization, take a few deep breaths and slowly open your eyes. You should feel a sense of connection and awareness with your body.
Visualization techniques are a valuable addition to your self-Reiki practice
Whether you need to create a protective shield around yourself with the Reiki bubble, mentally perform a full Reiki treatment, or explore your inner body with Reiki energy, these techniques can help you to focus your intention and channel Reiki energy to specific areas of your body or energy field. By incorporating visualization into your self-Reiki practice, you can deepen your connection with Reiki and experience its many benefits.
