In recent years the techniques of meditation have spread exponentially, the scientific studies on meditation describing effects ranging from preventing depression to increase emotional perception among others.
The rise of meditation created the need for techniques adapted to the “Westerners”, some brought even by Eastern Masters. This adjustment is about incorporating meditation techniques into the noisy and vertiginous lives of most people on this side of the world.
Those of us who have been in Reiki for years, perhaps without realizing it, have meditated more than “normal” since the entire Reiki session involves a contact with the deepest part of our interior and a union between the source, the practitioner, and the client.
For this reason, it’s quite easy for the Reiki practitioner to acquire the habit of meditating every day for a few minutes. At this point, it’s expected that you ask yourself “If when I do Reiki it’s as if I meditate at the same time, why should I do it apart?”, The answer is simple, “because meditation wakes us up, opens our mind and facilitates its contact with our SOUL”, and as Dr. Edward Bach would say “If we are in harmony with our Soul, we are healthy .”
For the Reiki practitioner, meditation would be like a catalyst of his technique, allowing to be more perceptive, calmer, more open as a channel and above all, more aware of his mission in each case.
In my personal experience of years of coordinating meditation groups in which there are a large majority of my Reiki students, group meditations are like small jumps that help us grow non-linearly. They are like pushes to advance our task.
If to these experiences we add the habit of meditating a few minutes before starting to receive our clients and a few minutes at the end of the day, we will begin to notice the difference in our experiences and our energetic vibration.
How to do it?
1. Choose the technique that you like the most; I consider that the important thing is the intention and not the method.
2. Just don’t do great deeds, start with 5 minutes at the most 10 in each meditation – for our restless western mind, it can be an eternity.
3. Just sit in a quiet place, in a comfortable position, close your eyes, breathe, and become aware of the breath, take slow deep breaths, taking a short time to retain the air between each inhalation/exhalation.
4. Visualize a quiet place and open your heart to what you should give or receive, the answers come alone, I assure you.
As I mentioned above, for a Reiki practitioner it’s not too difficult. Also, there are infinite audios of guided meditations on the internet that can serve as a guide to start. I’m not asking you to believe me, just accept the next challenge, meditate when you start and finish your day, it’s only 10 or 20 minutes a day, do it for two months, and then see how your practice has changed and I await your comments, since we are all united to learn on this path.
I write to you as a colleague, I tell you an experience that has been enriching for me and I share it with my sincere intention that it is for you too. It is a humble opinion of someone who does the same as you, you can take it or leave it, but believe me, it’s worth it!
Open the wings of your mind and your world will have no limits.

I couldn’t agree more, thank you for sharing! I truly believe that if everyone meditated, if only 5 minutes a day this would be a much different world we live in!
Thank you for your kind words.
Blessings
