It can be very easy to allow ourselves to tune out the inner light of others as we hurry through our day. The world moves very quickly and it can sometimes feel as though no one notices that all of us are souls, that in fact all things have a spirit or life force energy running through them. The truth is, many people don’t notice this or have decided to ignore it.
It is important, especially for healers, to tune in to your inner light or life force. Honor that you and everyone are more than flesh, that even the cells in your body are enlivened with life force. This allows us to more fully connect with our true selves and with others, remembering the way spirit dances in all of our hearts.
The life force is present in everything, but will be most obvious in living things, such as other people, animals and birds, insects or plants. You can begin tuning in by being present in your heart to the individual vibrations that each living being carries. We tend to instinctively pick up someone’s “vibe” when we first meet them, which is how we know right away how we feel about them. Think about the places in your body you pick up these sensations from another person when this happens. To tune in to another’s vibration with intention, you will open your heart to receiving and pay attention to noticing where you feel new vibrations in your body in response.
◊ Allow yourself to notice your own life force vibration first. You will probably recognize it most clearly in the center of your chest or your belly, though you may feel it vibrating all through your body. Notice its unique qualities.
◊ Next try opening yourself to the vibrations of the people you live with or near and feel closest to. Maybe a partner, sibling, child or parent. Their spirit will also have its own unique vibration and each of them will feel very different from the other. Because each person’s vibration is so distinct, when you are close to people and are in tune with them, you may feel that you would be able to tell one from the other while blindfolded.
◊ As you feel ready, try tuning in to the vibration of animals. You may be very easily in tune with the spirit vibration of your pet, knowing very intimately the subtleties of their unique inner qualities. Try recognizing the spiritual vibration of animals you don’t know, such as birds outside or other outdoor animals. Tune in from a respectful distance (no need to put your hands on them) and “listen” with your heart, paying attention to what you are able to pick up.
◊ If you wish, you may like to try tuning in to the spirit vibration of plants and trees. All things that grow have their own unique vibrational qualities as well. They each have life force and they each have their own unique spiritual force, separate from each other. With practice, you will be able to tell one plant or tree from another as easily as you could tell a person or pet from another. Some people are very in tune with plants naturally, but if you practice tuning in to life force, you can refine your ability to sense it in plants as well, even if it doesn’t come naturally to you.
◊ If you would like to continue expanding, try working with noticing the life force vibration in crystals and stones. If you have never felt vibration in crystals before, good ones to begin practicing noticing the vibration in are amethyst, rose quartz or other types of quartz. These stones are very high vibration and you may more readily pick up a vibratory sensation from them than some others that are mellower. Continue practicing by feeling the individual vibrations and noticing the unique differences.
Tuning in to the spirit vibrations in other beings will help you to improve your ability to connect with your intuition and to be a helpful healer. You will also naturally begin to connect more easily with those you care about and work with others more diplomatically. When we see the unique spirit in others, we are able to recognize the light that they truly are, even when they are not able to fully let that light shine.
