Life is like the US stock market. Some days are great and you can feel like a million bucks. Other days it can feel like you’re crashing…fast. In a world of such uncertainty, how does one achieve a sense of peace of mind?
According to many financial experts, rough economic times provide rare opportunities to invest in the stock market. It’s when stocks are on sale. Depending on the industry, these sales can be once in a lifetime type of sales.
The same strategy can be used in life. The challenging times in life, be it unemployment or breakups, are great opportunities to invest…not in the stock market, but in yourself. Challenges and blocks are opportunities for us to learn and grow. Specifically, when it comes to spiritual growth.
When we view challenges as opportunities to make lifestyle changes towards a better life, it can make all the difference in lifetime returns. In other words, the dividends of investing in yourself during tough times can far outweigh the costs.
What exactly are these types of returns and dividends? By investing in yourself during times of setbacks, you build your resiliency, develop confidence, and achieve a growth mindset.
Like the stock market, life can be extremely volatile. The US stock market rises over time despite many short-term setbacks in between. But bear markets eventually become bull markets and over an extended period of time, there is an increasing upward trend.
Similarly, the journey of life is about increasing our personal development which fuels soul growth. After all, life is about the journey, not the destination. So make choice for it to be a fulfilling journey!
The next time you feel like you are hitting a glass ceiling, take a step back. Shift your focus to using these blocks as opportunities to grow your soul. Start by investing in yourself.
Not sure where to start? Start small. Wake up each morning practicing just 1-minute of mindful meditation or Reiki self-healing. Actually, start even smaller. Start with 17 seconds.
Studies have shown that 17 seconds of focusing your energy on something positive can greatly impact your thought patterns. When you hold a positive thought, you activate the vibration of that thought. This allows the Law of Attraction to respond to that activation immediately.
From 17 seconds, build your way to 34 seconds. Then 68 seconds and so forth. Incorporate Reiki into your meditation through visualizing yourself surrounded by the healing positive energy.
May you thrive in all the silver linings of life’s uncertainties!
