I have had a tough 18 months behind me with all the trials and trepidations of moving. And not just moving house but having to renovate the house I bought, moving pets and “reinventing” my healing practice. I moved from the city to a small, weekend getaway town some 300km away.
During the past 18 months and with all the stress and sleepless nights, I somehow felt disconnected from Reiki and that I could not provide the healing and guidance to my clients that I would have liked to and usually did. Giving Reiki treatments did not flow as it always did and the agitation I felt with the process of home renovations on a remote basis and moving filtered through to many of my relationships – friends, family and clients.
My creativity felt stumped and dulled and I felt unable to share thoughts, ideas and motivation on social media and platforms such as Reiki Rays. Even self-healing and self-care felt like an effort. But, putting one foot in front of the other I finally, on 20 November 2024, arrived at my beautiful new home in my new town.
Set amongst the trees in the quietness of the countryside, I again started to feel connected to everything around me. I felt centred and grounded. And after a good space cleanse through smudging and Reiki space healing, my new home became a sanctuary with the surrounding trees and quietness energetically extremely and notably supportive of Reiki healing.
For the first month I focused on unpacking, getting settled and becoming comfortable in my new environment… and it is truly a beautiful space! Getting into bed at night after an exhausting day I naturally drifted back into the flow of Reiki self-healing.

I knew that, moving to a small town, I would have to move my practice into a different space – the distance/remote space. This was and is a challenge in its own right as clients and prospective clients are generally very skeptical about distant/remote healing. But, as I began to heal from the stress and hassles that I faced and dealt with over the past 18 months, many of my usual clients started gravitating to my new way of providing them with Reiki healing, guidance and support, embracing this new experience of Distant Reiki Healing.
This is a small community but I do have one or two local clients that are just too happy to have a Reiki healer so close to them. The bulk of my clients though are “seen” on a distant basis – some of them my city-clients, but also more clients from all parts of the world. I am extremely grateful for the Universe responding to the intention that I set of (re)building my healing practice based on distant and remote healing, coaching and teaching. And also, for this amazing space I now call home where the flow of Reiki is accentuated by the trees and their amazing auras observing my reconnection and progress from the outside.
