On a global level, we have deprioritized the divine feminine. This doesn’t just reflect in the fact that women are paid on average 20% less than men and we value and worship sportsmen more than teachers, but also how subconsciously, we’re all trying to be men, literally and figuratively wearing the pants. Bold, outspoken and aggressive qualities are rewarded more than kind, gentle and quiet, if it is even safe enough to be that way. It bothers me that ‘housewife’ is such a derogatory term today that most women prefer to call themselves ‘home maker’. Why?
On this Woman’s Day I invite you to heal and resurrect the inner feminine through Reiki. There are many aspects of being a woman that Reiki can help us heal.
Your Body
Many women hate the period, and a typical outcome of this is PMS and period pains. An unpleasant initial experience with the onset of womanhood can send us into a negative spiral of hate and pain. Periods are not naturally painful, even though the disturbance today is extremely common as a result of devaluing the feminine. Regular self-healing practice healing the front and back chakras heals menstrual issues within a few months, so if your self-practice is not strong, I would recommend starting now. Along with this, we can use this opportunity to meditate upon the uterus, using the symbols if you’ve done level 2, and requesting forgiveness from the uterus for all the abuse it has endured on a physical and ancestral level, from others but also us. Doing this on a daily basis can create a very profound shift.
The second thing many women experience is emotional eating. Heal your food before you eat, and seek healing/therapy if needed, because this is relatively easy to heal with the right help.
Your Mind
More and more women are today experiencing allergy symptoms which cause brain fog, as a result of the cumulative collective abuse we have suffered over generations. This typically comes along with a damaged solar plexus and a broken digestion. I have found that meditating with a golden power symbol on the solar plexus can help us heal power issues in relationships and help us reconnect with our inner strength, clarity and capacity to draw healthy boundaries. Level 1 practitioners can benefit from this by simply imagining a yellow glowing ball of light in the solar plexus.
Your Heart
Our capacity for self love is directly impacted by our initial relationship with our mothers. If our mother was important and valued in the family, we subconsciously learn that we are important and valued. If not, then it takes learning and healing to get there. The simplest way to approach this, if we have her consent, is to make it a habit to heal our mothers, for no reason other than gratitude for having birthed us. If this is not possible for whatever reason, we can imagine her in front of us and send healing and blessings. Doing it for 21 days continuously can bring quite a shift.
The Community
As women we’re still learning to be more supportive of each other, as jealousy is a common trait when the inner feminine turns toxic – so this is part of the healing we have to go through. For starters, we begin by not judging ourselves for our jealous feelings. When we experience jealousy, it is simply our subconscious telling us that we want what the other person has but we don’t feel it is possible. So bringing this into our awareness is a great first step. Additionally, we can then proceed to imagine us in a similar situation and Reiki that mental picture.
What can be tremendously useful is to make a list of all the women we love and the women we hate. Sending healing to the women we love in gratitude for having made our lives better enriches those relationships further, and sending healing to all the women we hate, wishing for their well-being and happiness helps us heal our own inner feminine, because ultimately everything that is triggering us is a reflection of our own darkness.
The Cosmos
Astrologically, Moon and Venus represent the inner feminine. Connecting and healing our relationship with these planets also helps us relax more deeply into our feminine qualities. Of course, something like this is far easier and more effective if your practice has been regular for the last few months and you have done level 2. Imagine the planets in front of you, draw all the symbols and request Reiki to heal your relationship with them.
The divine feminine represents qualities of creation, nourishment, beauty and surrender. These are powerful forces that make the world a better place. I wish for you a much deeper connection with these qualities this Women’s Day. I hope you realise that you are not just worth celebrating, but your existence itself is a celebration of life itself. Thank you for joining me, I’ll see you again soon.
