1. Start each day with a Gassho Meditation including the Reiki Precepts
‘Make Each Day Your Masterpiece’ by starting your day right. Take just a few minutes every morning to sit quietly in Gassho Meditation and run through the Reiki Precepts. You can follow along with a guided mediation here. By going through the Precepts in the morning we place at the forefront of our mind the intention to live from these Precepts and not get swept away with the chaos of the day ahead of us.
2. Give yourself a quick self-treatment
This is especially important if you’re a bit under the weather. Spend some time giving to yourself by running through the self-treatment protocol. If you need a reminder of where to place your hands, see this PDF.
3. Place Reiki into your bath water before bathing or practice self-healing under the shower
If you’re a fan of bath bombs, draw symbols on them and place Reiki into the bath bomb before releasing it into the water, dispersing the energy with the bath bomb, into the bathwater. If you like bubble bath or soap, do the same before placing in the water. If you prefer a shower, get under the showerhead and use the water pressure to help visualise Reiki energy entering the top of your head and running through your entire body. You can also try this Reiki Holy Bath method.
4. If you take medication, give the medicine some Reiki before you take it
Blessing your medication with Reiki can greatly enhance the medicinal efficacy and reduce side-effects. If you’re undergoing any form of treatment or surgery at a clinic, quietly visualise the equipment and staff and bless them with Reiki too. By concentrating on your Reiki energy you can expect to recover quicker and experience less pain.
5. Treat your pets to a healing treatment
Pets love a fuss, and there can be nothing more satisfying than naturally relieving a pet’s pain or ailment. Giving Reiki to animals is fairly straightforward and you can also download the Animal Reiki book from Reiki Rays.
6. Give Reiki to your houseplants
Working with houseplants can be a great way to kickstart your psychic abilities. Whilst tuning in to your plants you may pick up on how often the plant likes to be watered and what position in the house it would prefer. Learn more about giving Reiki to houseplants here.
7. Give Reiki to your laptop and mobile phone
Treating your most used electronic devices is a great way to reduce harmful emissions and increase the Reiki flowing to you. Use this example and apply it to all your personal electronic devices.
8. Bless your food and drink with Reiki
Apart from the benefit of showing gratitude for the food that has found its way in front of you, adding some Reiki to your food and drink before a meal will raise the vibration of the food and be of greater benefit to you energetically.
9. Channel Reiki as you go about your cleaning chores
Not only can you physically clean your home but you can energetically clean it too. Great for using after guests and when clearing out neglected junk and cupboards. You can also create a Spring or Pre- or post-Christmas routine like this one.
10. Give Reiki to your car before a journey or bless your mode of transport
Give Reiki to your car via the steering wheel in much the same way you would give Reiki to a person. Visualise the Reiki energy infusing the car, the dash, the engine, the seats and creating a protective bubble external to the car in all directions.
11. Practice distance Reiki on nature and wildlife around you
There’s nothing wrong with offering a helping hand to Mother Nature from time to time. I like to send Reiki to the birds who visit my garden and to the family of badgers that live on the hill opposite. They’re not keen on seeing me in person, wary as they are of humans, but I can send them some Reiki remotely.
12. Draw the Reiki symbols on your work desk and bless the space you occupy and all who enter it
The office can be one of the most challenging environments for keeping energies high and clear. With the potential for catty co-workers, unreasonable bosses and demanding workloads, keep your workplace safe with Reiki.
13. Print out the Reiki precepts and place them around your home where you can easily see them
There’s a surprising array of Reiki artists out there who have created amazing wall hangings, jewellery and keepsakes with the Reiki Precepts beautifully inscribed on them but I think it is more meaningful to create your own. Place them where you can see them often and be reminded not to worry, not to get angry etc.
14. Spend a few moments in Gassho and give thanks in the evening
At the end of the day, spend a few minutes with your hands in prayer, and give thanks for your many blessings. Even if you’ve had the worst day, there is always something to be grateful for. You can find a guided evening Gassho meditation here.
15. Lie in bed before sleep and give yourself to some self-treatment
Sometimes the day is over before we know it and we find ourselves in bed, exhausted from another day. Instead of rolling over and worrying about tomorrow, why not spend some time relaxing into some self-treatment. Concentrate on the head and the heart area and let the Reiki flow to where it is needed as you gently go to sleep.
