On Saturday 14th November 2015 Australian time, just like so many other countries around the world, I woke to the news of the terror that had besieged Paris.
I read the reports and watched the news in revulsion, dismay and shock. My heart went out to all the victims, their family and friends. Paris was going to be in for a long road to recovery.
On a personal level these events took me straight back to my own experiences with dealing with asylum seekers in detention centres and the riots, assaults, trauma and violence inflicted on myself and fellow officers by the majority Muslim population.
It just so happens a group of 4 Reiki Masters and myself were doing a glorious Distance Reiki Healing on the Saturday evening, and so I suggested we send beautiful Reiki healing out to the world, to Paris, to the victims and even the perpetrators of the crimes.
When sending the distance Reiki, I could physically feel the energy enveloping all who required the Reiki and the love. I could feel Paris soaking up the divine love, and also I felt people from around the world soaking up the love. Many people were in fear and so the Reiki went to them to support, comfort and encourage. It was beautiful to do what I could as an individual and even more beautiful with the other Reiki Masters who live in various states of Australia.
I have openly shared with the readers of Reiki Rays of this trauma and how I had forgiven that group of people for the atrocities I’d personally been through, and yet these events in Paris showed me I had more personal healing to do.
It triggered the hurtful memory of a onetime friend/Reiki master who told me I was ‘racist’ or at least spreading ‘racism’ because I openly shared my concerns and trepidations about the radicals a few years ago, cascading into a massive fall out with her. So that hurt resurfaced for me, and I had the feelings of ‘well I did voice these concerns, and was slammed for them.’ It wasn’t a joyous feeling of ‘look I was right, I was right and you were wrong.’ It was a very, very sad feeling of how I was treated so poorly for having a real life view and perspective on the situation. You may recall I worked in Intelligence/Investigations and hold a Degree in Justice Studies, majoring in Intelligence and Security.
My husband on Sunday morning informed me I’d had a terrible, terrible night. “Tammy” he said, “You tossed and turned for most of the night, sleep talking and you were abusing and screaming profanities at people. In fact to me it seemed like you were fighting a war and it seems you were winning it single handily.”
Jokes aside, it seems the events in Paris had triggered a reaction in me. It’s truly no wonder since I had lived through Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for the past 13 years or so (I was working with asylum seekers when 9/11 happened and that is yet another story on their cheers and celebrations which took place that day by many of the Muslims in the centres).
Maybe I hadn’t quite forgiven as much as I thought?
Needless to say, I’ve been doing a lot of self-reiki of late. I’ve been doing a lot of praying and sending of Reiki around the world and sending so so so much love as well.
A few males whom I worked with back in the day, have been writing some really ‘hard’ stuff on their facebook pages about violence and about war to end the radicals invasion on our way of life. I can understand their frustrations and their anger and resentments. We have lived through enough.
However as I wrote on their posts, that I am sending love. Someone responded with ‘love and good wishes and changing our profile picture to that of the French flag, will do nothing as it’s simply a token. My response is sometimes ordinary and everyday people can’t do much else but to send love and positive vibes. I also said, “do not underestimate the power of love and healing energy.”
Another wonderful empowering thing for me is I now stand comfortably in my opinion of the radical muslims and can voice my displeasure in their behaviours, without cowering in fear of others opinions or attacks on me (or my spirituality as that Reiki master did a few years ago.) I am comfortable and stand tall in my opinion that something must be done to stop the atrocities. I also stand tall in the fact I can send love and Reiki to the world including the perpetrators.
I trust that as you read this article it helps you to know you can send love, healing and Reiki around the world to ease some of the terror going on. You can send Reiki to yourself, family and friends who may be anxious, stressed and terrified by the world events. At the same time you are allowed to feel anger and resentment for what is happening – it’s appalling what is happening in the world right now. You are allowed your opinions. Most importantly though, I feel whatever your stance – it’s crucial to always, always send love, light, healing and Reiki to yourself and the world.
Together our energies can surely overcome negative energy!
With love, light and harmony.
Thank you for sharing also this Peace and Love around the World meditation.

forgiving is a warrior stance, very difficult. My question is do they or do we have to be forgiven? Probably both.
Interfering with their life on their land. I try to put myself in their shoes. I would not be happy, SEEING MY FAMILY / FRIENDS DEAD OR INJURED,MY LIVELY HOOD GONE, MY LAND RUINED,HUNGRY ECT. I MAY TREAT INTERLOPERS WITH HATE.
Hi JC yes you are right. Putting yourself in another’s shoes is a great way to get a good perspective. I still feel sending love love and love and reiki to the world is one thing I can do to assist. Thanks for taking the time to comment. With love, light and harmony. Tammy

Tammy,
Thank you for the article. My first reaction to the attacks in Paris was to send Reiki healing to everyone involved. I pray that the number of people attuned to Reiki and other healing modalities will continue to grow and become an even more powerful energy to rid our world of violence.
Peace and love be with you always.
Karen
Hi Karen, I am so happy to read that you sent Reiki to the situation. If every single one of us attuned did as you’ve mentioned, it would it just be fantastic. Thanks so much for taking the time to write. With much love, light and harmony. Tammy xx
Thanks Tammy for healing the victims & their family members through the powerful rays of Reiki. Really Reiki is God Reiki is life. I would like to mention here that if no disease is healed in medicine it is healed in Reiki.
Thank you Sanjay. Reiki is truly amazing. Love, light and harmony. Tammy xx
Thank you Tammy for this article. As a Reiki Master from South Africa now living in Israel I also have much healing to do on myself and give to the world at the same time. Your article has allowed me to express exactly my anger at the terror being inflicted on many levels in this world, but I am truly grateful for being able to be a part if the healing process with my Reiki. Sending you lots of love and light😍
Jeanne, thank you for taking the time to write your comment. Terrorism is one of those very difficult things and dealing with our emotions as best we can is important. Sending you much love, light and harmony. Tammy xxx
