The year is fresh and new and now is a good time to let go of self-imposed limitations, doubts, and fears, and allow yourself to imagine being fully connected to your true power, your light, and your ability to create blessings, joy, and love in your life.
As an energy being, we are constantly exposed to physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual “drains” that deplete our energy and lower our energy vibration. Doing our Reiki practice on a daily basis we set the tone for our daily lives and support a life of celebration, gratitude, and an overall living state of well-being. This state of being is often referred to as high vibrational living. But, apart from our regular Reiki self-healing and other Reiki practices, how can we maintain high vibrational living?
On a physical level this is relatively easy, and we all have the knowledge… we may just need to apply it more effectively… healthy eating, drinking plenty of water, getting some fresh air and regular exercise, just to mention a few.
Here are a few additional, Reiki-based thoughts and ideas on how to support high-vibrational living…
1. Do a Gassho Meditation
A Gassho meditation is a simple practice and when used consistently becomes the foundation for powerful healing and raising the vibration of our energy body. Just 10 minutes of meditation a day can change your life forever.
- Close your eyes and fold your hands in prayer position. Your fingers should be pointing up and your thumbs should be against your Heart Chakra.
- Focus your attention on the space between the Palm Chakras. Move your consciousness into that space.
- If thoughts come up, simply observe them, let them pass and gently bring your focus back to the space between your palms.
When you reach the end of the meditation, take a couple deep breaths, bring your attention to your eyes, and open them slowly.
2.Do Yoga
Yoga is a wonderful supplement to your daily and regular Reiki practices. The poses in yoga encourage you to go deeper into both your body and mind, freeing stagnant energy and raising your vibration.
3. Practice Mindfulness
Building awareness of yourself and your surroundings is a brilliant way to raise your vibration. Mindfulness can lead you to be more considerate and thoughtful, allowing you to be kind and compassionate to others and yourself. Become aware and enjoy the here and the now. Apply the Gokai, i.e., the Reiki Precepts to your daily life. Just for today… This is a fundamental principle in Reiki.
4. Tend to Your Chakras
Your seven main chakras are the spiritual energy centres of the body and the perfect places from which to raise your general vibration. When your chakras are balanced and aligned, your energy is flowing harmoniously, allowing for greater creativity, happiness, health, and wellbeing. Doing Reiki self-healing is an easy and effective way for clearing and balancing and maintaining the balance of your chakras.
5. Use Crystals
Crystals have been used for thousands of years to help boost positive energy and vibrations. Seek out healing stones that can support you on all levels of body, mind and spirit and incorporate these healing crystals into your meditations and/or Reiki healing practices and self-healing. There are so many crystals to choose from but be guided by what you are attracted to and by your intuition. If necessary, you may also decide to seek guidance from a crystal healer or other reliable source. You can also wear your crystals, place them around your home or simply carry one in your bag.
6. Walk in Nature
Get your body moving while you enjoy the benefit of sunshine and fresh air. Turn off your phone, or, better yet, leave it at home, and shift your mood by reconnecting with Mother Nature. It will be an additional bonus if you interrupt your walk for a short Gassho meditation or self-healing Reiki session.
7. Be Conscious of the Foods you Eat
Some foods vibrate at high frequencies, and some lower (fresh fruits and vegetables have a high vibration; most junk food and takeaways do not vibrate at all). If you are consuming foods covered in chemicals and pesticides, or foods found within plastic packaging, it will leave you vibrating lower. Conversely, consume good quality organic produce, food as nature intended it, and feel the high vibrations disseminate throughout your body. Most importantly, pay attention to how eating certain foods make your body feel. The Distant Healing Symbol can be used over food to increase the nutritional value, as well as to offer thanks for the meal. If you doubt the freshness of the food, do the Mental/Emotional Symbol to cleanse and purify the food.
8. Practice Gratitude
Practicing gratitude, one of the Five Reiki Precepts instantly puts you into a higher vibrational state. Rather than focusing on what you do not have, make a list of all the many things you can be thankful for in your life. This shifts your vibrations from focusing on a sense of lack to what is already abundant in your life.
9. Say No to Someone or Something
Sometimes we tend to diminish our positive vibrations by continually ignoring our own needs and giving more to others. Reclaim your energy by saying no to something that you do not really want to do and watch your mood soar. And remember, NO is a full sentence… You do not need to justify it or feel guilty. Paying attention to the energetic health of your Solar Plexus and Throat Chakra during your Reiki self-healing may be particularly beneficial.
10. Breathe Deeply
There are a number of Reiki breathing techniques that you may want to use as explained in the article Breathing Techniques in Reiki. But breathing deeply is so simple and yet so effective. Deep breathing calms your nervous system, which helps bring about an increased feeling of peace. Raise your vibrations by taking a few deep breaths into the belly—breathing in for a count of 4, pausing at the top of the in-breath, and breathing out for a count of 4, pausing at the bottom of the out-breath.
11. Be Creative
Do something creative because creativity triggers playfulness and allows you to let go of fears – fear of losing control, fear of not knowing the outcome, fear of not having time for endless experiments without a logical purpose. Creativity brings a sense of accomplishment and true inner expression, unlocking and unblocking our energy to allow for upping our vibration. During your Reiki self-healing sessions, you may want to pay specific attention to your Sacral and Throat Chakras.
12. Cultivate High-Vibe Relationships
This is true for your personal and professional life. Make sure the people in your life lift you up rather than drag you down. You will be exposed to all sorts of people and their energies, but regular Reiki healing will enable you to be in a better state of being to “survive” those who you find difficult to “handle.” Use the Power Symbol for protection and the Koriki Symbol to bestow happiness and blessings on everyone around you. Try to spend time with your Tribe… Reiki Shares are a wonderful way of doing just that.
Celebrate life daily with Reiki and gratitude, incorporating some of the ideas above, and sure enough, you will enjoy a high vibrational life.
