Sometimes, it’s the smallest things that show the amazing power of Reiki. A series of signs, intention, and Reiki led to a bounty of synchronicities that manifested in just a few days. In this case, the small thing in question was a rescued hamster that was in need of a home.
On Monday, I thought to myself, “I would like to adopt a hamster from a rescue.”. While that is not a novel thought for me, it was the first time that I had entertained the idea of adopting a new hamster since my previous rescue had passed away, six months ago. So, I sent out some Reiki to the Universe with the intention of beginning a search.
About five minutes later, I went onto the internet and my very first search showed a female hamster that needed a family. She was listed as approximately one year old and having been part of a rescue from a hoarding situation. In her short life she had been bred repeatedly and given birth to over forty pups. All of her offspring had been adopted, however, after a couple of months, there had not been one single application for her.
I sent the rescue organization a request for information and they sent me an application. It was a very thorough application process where I had to show the kind of housing, bedding, food, and vet care that I would provide. I also had to give personal references for the rescue to contact. I spent that night sending Reiki out, again, hoping that the application would go through.
The next morning I woke up to find that not only had my application been approved but I was showered with praise by my references. The animal rescue felt that I was the “perfect home”. They were extremely happy that they had found an applicant that had hamster experience and was willing to adopt an older hamster. Now the rescue and I needed to figure out when I would be able to pick up the hamster.
Unfortunately, she was being fostered almost a two and a half hour drive from my house. I would be able to get her in two weekends, but not any sooner due to prior obligations. I really wanted to pick her up right away, but instead, I focused on getting her new living quarters set up and went shopping for her food and bedding materials.
That night, I sat in bed and decided to send another hamster inspired Reiki request. What I had asked for, my specific intention was that the foster home would, for some reason, offer to come to my town the next day and bring the hamster.
Waking up that morning I had a feeling that my Reiki hope had been fulfilled. Before even getting out of bed, I checked my email and found one from the rescue. The foster mom would in fact be driving this way the next day. She had to travel past my house for another reason and was willing to bring the hamster directly to me.
I wasn’t expecting to find and adopt a rescue hamster until after the holidays. Instead, with the magic of Reiki and the power of intention, it practically manifested immediately. Reiki has been a part of my life for so long, but, how it worked for this tiniest of beings, to bring her here to me when she was so in need of love, has had a profound impact. I have been graced once again by the miracle of Reiki.
