Elemental Reiki is a system that was created by Rebecca Doolin in 1995. This Reiki system is especially formatted for those that practice a Goddess based earth religion, Pagans, and Wiccans. There are eight symbols in this system.
There are five elemental symbols based on; Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Spirit (which some of us refer to as Ether). These symbols seem fairly intuitive and may be derived from other symbols from Wiccan, Pagan, or Druid practices.
- The Spirit symbol in Elemental Reiki, is the Pentacle.
- Water is depicted as two triangles, a smaller one inside a larger one.
- The Fire symbol is based off of a lightning bolt, but also feels similar to the Raku grounding symbol.
- The Air symbol is three perpendicular wavy lines that show the movement of air.
- The Earth symbol is a spiral representation of the Goddess.
There are three more symbols that are considered power symbols. In the manual, it is stated these were given directly by Spirit and are, therefore Spirit symbols. These are slightly more involved in the five elemental symbols and really need to be seen to understand. Of particular interest to Wiccans may be that each of the symbols also come with a correspondence for; color, seasons, directions, time, and sense. This is certainly welcome and really opens up this system to being used with other rituals, or for increasing the energy of each symbol.
I spent months trying to find the creator, Rebecca Doolin online. I was interested in being attuned to this system and to be able to attune others. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a website or account that seemed to be owned by the original creator. However, there are many Reiki sites that do offer the attunement, along with the manual, symbols, and ability to then attune others. You must be a Reiki Master prior to being attuned to this system.
All attunements for this system are done online. At least, I could not find a local Reiki Master that could perform an attunement. There are shortened versions of the manual online, but now, the real manual is more involved and offers much more than just the symbols.
Rebecca Doolin, included in her system, information regarding each chakra and her own method for awakening the chakras. She also offered grounding ideas and four part breathing exercises. She shared how to incorporate her system with Usui Reiki. Additionally, she gave insight into the various ways one might use Elemental Reiki, including; how to cleanse a room, cleansing stones or crystals, shielding, and chakra work.
I find myself being intuitively drawn to use the symbols in much of my personal work. If you use Reiki, and also practice any Earth based religion, Goddess religions, Wicca, or Pagan paths then this system might really help you create a bridge between the two.

A great article. I too have practiced the way of the goddess. I am a Usui Reiki Master.
Where do I find this course or manual? Thank you, Linda Rupp
