After I learned Reiki… I couldn’t help but notice very “Reiki” themes in the classic movie THE WIZARD OF OZ.
Of course, we are all very familiar with this story… but, let’s look at it through a Reiki lens.
Dorothy is “lost” and learns that the way home was always in her power to discover. She didn’t need the help that the wizard was claiming to give her. She just had to close her eyes to get where she needed to go. (Clicking the heels is optional).
When we trust ourselves and look within, we can get where we need to go.
Along the way, she meets the Scarecrow and Tin man and both are seeking something. The Scarecrow of course wants a brain, so he can be smart. And, the Tin man wants a heart, so he can feel love.
Even though both of them are not connected to a physical body… one is made of tin and one of hay… they seek wisdom and love… and they find these things. And, once again, this was not the result of the wizard’s wizardly ways.
They were able to acquire these things because they BELIEVED.
BELIEVING in yourself IS the way there!
Then, there’s the lion… his physical appearance terrifies the trio, who are making their way to Oz. But, ironically, he lacks courage, or so he thinks. Once again, he gets what he was looking for when he believes he is brave.
HIS COURAGE WAS ALWAYS INSIDE OF HIM. He just needed to see it.
The SOLAR PLEXUS Chakra is your connection to your power… your path to COURAGE. And, the color of this Chakra is… yup… YELLOW.
Another reason why I believe the writer of the story truly knew and understood Reiki. Let your solar plexus be YOUR yellow brick road. The path to your courage and your most confident self.
When you unlock the power of your solar plexus, you begin to see that you are far more powerful than you ever imagined. Your courage is strengthened and you feel it.
YOU DISCOVER YOUR ROAR!
Back in Oz, we also discover that the “Mighty Oz” was not so mighty. The ones who were seeking his “power” discovered they had it all along. He truly offered them nothing more than a chance to look within themselves, to see what was already there.
THE SEEKER FINDS THE WIZARD WITHIN!
You have a power far more mighty than the man behind the curtain in Oz.
Tapping into it can clear anything that is blocking the flow of your courage and confidence and hindering your power.
Connect with your solar plexus energy and find your courage. Sometimes all we need is a reminder.
Reiki is your inner power and you don’t need to travel a yellow brick road to find it, you don’t even need ruby red slippers. You’ll find it within.
