If someone would have told us a year ago that right now, we would have to wear masks in public, our children would have to attend school online and people around the globe would isolate inside of their homes for weeks… you probably would not believe this. But here we are, living in this surreal reality. And, something we would have never believed in is something we have had to navigate. We did have to isolate in our homes for weeks. And, during this time, of the unbelievable becoming real, people began to look for something positive to believe in, to help cope with this uncertainty. Perhaps we were searching for light in the darkness and looking deeper. This is when Reiki can lead the way. Reiki is most definitely a lighthouse in the storm.
I watched this happening right before my eyes, on my healing grids.
On the first night of isolation, I decided to offer people free distance Reiki healing. I felt obligated to share this with anyone who was interested. I posted a picture of my healing grid on my Facebook page and asked people to send me their names, if they were interested. The very first day, I received 28 names. I carefully wrote each name on a small piece of paper and put the 28 names on the grid. The next day, approximately 50 more added their names, so I also added this offering to my Instagram feed. Each day, the names came in and each night, I would do fifteen minutes of distance healing, with candles and lights, prayers, positivity and love. In just a few days, the grid was filled and I had to start another one. With stores closed, I had to be creative, as I couldn’t purchase more grids and had to make some. I was making grids out of cereal boxes and frozen pizza boxes. It didn’t matter what was used to create the frame of the grid, as what mattered was the love, light and names that filled each one. Soon, my entire dining room table was filled. It became a ritual in my home, as I would put crystals and candles all over them and get ready for my nightly transmission.
As I created the ninth, grid, there was no longer room on my table and I had to move to the floor. I am thrilled to report that by the eleventh week of isolation, there were 5,628 names on my grids. Watching these grids grow from one to ten and seeing the names move into the thousands was so exciting. I often couldn’t keep up with the names coming in and it would take a few nights to get every name on. But each name was added. It was amazing to see people reaching out from all across the world. There were people on the grids from Spain, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Dubai. What struck me the most were the stories behind the names. People who were missing their relatives and couldn’t see them. People who were worried because their loved ones had been diagnosed and they were praying for a recovery. People who were mourning the loss of a loved one. It was powerful.
So many people who reached out were simply looking to be a part of something positive. They had seen the pictures on Facebook or Instagram and wanted to be added. People were sending messages to thank me for sending the light each night. Some said seeing the post each morning was keeping them going. People who wouldn’t have ordinarily reached out for Reiki, or even have known what it was, were believing in the light that they saw growing each day. They could feel the energy.
I felt so blessed to be able to work with Reiki in this way. To have knowledge of distance Reiki and how to transmit and send love and light. I was grateful to be able to feel as if I was doing something to help others in such an unusual time. And, the light that filled my home each night was spectacular.
I had never imagined the grids would grow so big and go on for so long. As the number of people with the virus was growing, so was our light. The light was growing brighter as the statistics were growing darker. So, we stayed together in light until it turned around a bit. Until we saw a shift.
The grids proved that light is contagious and faith multiplies when we join together in love.
I still have all of the grids and set them up every now and then, for a spontaneous transmission.
Reiki distance in my home has taken on a whole new meaning since Covid. I know many people, from the Reiki Rays community were a part of the grids, as you had signed up through my Facebook posts. I thank you for being part of the light and shining brightly with me, through these dark times. We have to be the light for each other.
Together we shine brighter.
