Reiki for Some of the Infant and Toddler Health Issues

Motherhood is the most satisfying as well as the most challenging phase in a woman’s life. Your little bundle of joy arrives with many new situations to tackle. Some of which are emotional while most being physical issues. In today’s world with nuclear families, Reiki comes handy when you do not have any family support. Reiki helps you heal various issues of your tiny tot whether it is a blocked nose, constipated bowels or breastfeeding.

During pregnancy, most women prepare themselves for the impending motherhood by reading up on maternity and parenting. These books also speak about the importance of breastfeeding. Breast milk not only nourishes and strengthens a baby’s immune system but also helps it bond with the mother. While many maternity classes teach about breastfeeding, it is only when the baby arrives that you test the theory. And in this scenario, Reiki is a boon provided you are a minimum Reiki level I practitioner.

While breastfeeding is a very fulfilling experience, it takes some time for the mother as well as the baby to get it right. To help your baby latch on to your breast properly, you can use some Reiki. You can do this when the baby is inside you in the last trimester. From seventh or eighth month onwards, after your self-Reiki session, place your hands on your womb. And intend/say, “you are a happy, healthy baby. You latch on well to your mother’s breast after your birth.” You can program Reiki with this intention before you go into the labor ward. You will see that after birth, the baby latches on to your breast and feeds itself well.

Another health issue which Reiki can address is common cold among babies. You can easily, open your baby’s stuffed nose using Reiki and help him breathe. To do that place your hand on his Third Eye chakra and intend, “your Third Eye chakra is cleansed aligned and balanced. Your nasal congestion has cleared. You can breathe easily and normally.” If you are Reiki III level practitioner, you can use Raku symbol on the nose along with the above affirmation. Now give Reiki for five to 10 minutes or as long as it takes. You will find your baby’s breathing is normal and he is fast asleep.

We can also use Reiki to ease up constipation in babies/toddlers. For that, place your hands on the baby’s stomach/Solar Plexus chakra and say, “your stomach chakra is cleansed, aligned and balanced. Your constipation has cleared. Your bowel movements are smooth.” You can use Raku symbol if attuned.

Note: You can give Reiki along with the medicines prescribed by your pediatrician. Reiki is not an alternative to medicine.
