Reiki Self Love Box

Create yourself a beautiful box that represents yourself, and fill it with Reiki Love. This helps with self esteem, confidence, breaking habits, changing negative thought patterns and all sorts of other issues that are linked to our self love (or lack of).

Find a box, tin or any kind of container that you feel represents you. Decorate it beautifully, express yourself, add pictures of things that resonate with you and are meaningful to you. Looking at this box should light you up, raise your spirits, make you smile.

Inside the box draw any Reiki symbols that you feel are appropriate and feel empowering to you. Also, write your name, use the name you call yourself, this can be your birth name or nickname or the name that your family and friends call you, it should be the name that you really feel is you; the one that you know in your heart is your Soul name.

You can also line the box with colours, textures, images, and trinkets; anything that feels right to you. Only you are going to look into this box, it is precious so respect it, care for it and love it. This box represents you, so by showing it love and respect, you are acknowledging that you deserve to be treated this way with love and care.

Spend a little time each day holding your box and sending Reiki into it, visualise beautiful love light filling this box (you can do this by distance when you are not close to the box), make it part of your daily routine to do this. This represents you filling yourself with love and helps if you find it hard to feel that you deserve the love and struggle to receive healing and love. Giving yourself this visual representation of self love on a regular basis can help reinforce the idea in your mind and remind you that you are deserving of Love.

You can also use the box to help break negative habits and to reinforce positive choices. Keep a jar of ‘tokens’ near the box, these can be beads or buttons or something natural like shells, seeds or stones, crystals work beautifully too. Each time you find yourself making a positive choice, put a ‘token’ into your box so that you can see that by making this choice you are filling yourself up with love and healing. This can really help to deal with cravings as it gives you something physical to do and experience; a healthier alternative to choosing to give in to the craving and repeat negative behaviour. Never take out a token as a ‘punishment’ for making a not so healthy choice, you still deserve all the love and praise you have been given in the past, in fact, you can draw on that to help you to make the next positive choice. If you experience a moment of self doubt, take a look inside your box at all those beautiful, self loving moments when you have been strong willed and know that you can do it again.

You can write ‘love letters’ to your self and pop them into the box. If you struggle with this start by drawing yourself a Reiki symbol and popping that into the box. Next, add a few positive words to describe yourself. Add more detail each time until you are able to describe yourself in loving, positive way that embraces and celebrates you in all your glory. It can also help to write to yourself as though you were writing to a friend; use the same gentle approach and loving language as you would to a loved one.

Keep your Self Love Reiki Box somewhere safe and special. If you have an altar that’s a good place to keep it, or by your bed, even under your pillow. Display it with pride, this is you telling yourself and the universe that you deserve to be seen.

Self Love is so important. In order to live our lives happily, we need to take care of ourselves, recognise and honour our own needs. In order to be able to serve the world in the way we are meant to as lightworkers, we need to be fully ‘charged’ with loving, positive energy. Use your box to help you achieve this.

You can also use affirmations with your box, repeat these to yourself while sending loving, healing Reiki to it/yourself. Some affirmations you might like to try are:

I Love, I am Loved, I am Love.
I Love and respect myself, just as I am.
I deserve Love and happiness, I am enough, I am balanced, I am whole.
My life is filled with Love.
