Often when giving a Reiki treatment we sense the release of ‘stuck’ energy, we often call these ‘blocks’ and I have also heard them referred to as ‘stagnant energy’, ‘fear based’ or ‘low energies’. I am a very visual person so I visualise a lot during treatments and can ‘see’ grey energy releasing from the recipient.
We are beings of vibrating energy so energy in it’s self is not harmful to us, however the frequency of the vibration, rate of flow and build ups of sluggish or blocked energy are what affect us. Removing energy that is no longer serving our highest good is a healing and rebalancing experience, but what happens to that energy? Being the sort of person who likes to tie up loose ends I don’t like to ‘see’ this grey ‘stuff’ hanging about at the end of a treatment.
Cleansing the treatment space afterward helps to remove it. This can be done in several ways, I personally, use Reiki and smudging with incense.
But what happens to the energy that we have removed?
I like to ask for this energy to be transmuted into pure love light (in other words change the frequency of its vibration to a pure, positive and loving one). Although Reiki has an infinite source, I like to send ‘left over’ energy back, being an advocate of reusing and recycling this feels right to me!
The Ascended Master St. Germain is often called upon with his violet flame to help with this, and I sometimes use this technique and call upon him for assistance. More recently though, I have come to realise that this process can be done very simply but powerfully with Reiki and intention (As most things can be). I use a thought, some specific, heartfelt words that have deep meaning to me and describe my intention. These words could be thought of as affirmation, mantra or prayer, basically a communication with the Divine source of Reiki asking with Love and gratitude, that this energy to be transmuted into pure Love for the highest good of all.
I like this ‘tying up of loose ends’ it feels a bit like a completion and beginning of a cycle. It works for me as a beautiful way to end a Reiki session.
