Life is beautiful but not always easy. Each of us are here to live our truth and explore our own unique path. Sometimes the road may become difficult. There may be events that happen that we think we could not have possibly picked for ourselves to go through and may challenge our beliefs to the core. When traumas happen it is hard not to have negative feelings and have our mindset change. It is common to experience depression, fear, negativity and have self-love run out the door. These are some of the best teachers in life and believe it or not it helps to thank them for the lessons they bring! The important thing is to notice when you feel down. Acknowledge it! You have the power to change your life. No matter how dark or depressing it may seem. Reiki is a gentle tool that can help any situation when you are ready. It can help you learn to love yourself again and bring you back to your true being.
Learning to love yourself again is the key to a whole new life. Once self- love starts coming back (or appearing for the 1st time) some amazing things happen. Negativity runs out the door while positive energy, positive experiences, and new awesome opportunities start flooding in. You might catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and think… “wow, I like the way I look today!” You will feel a new sense of confidence and notice that you start being able to tell other people “no” when something is not a positive fit for you. You may have several positive breakthroughs where before you felt walls. Life will have new meaning and you will be excited to live it. Gone will be the thoughts of, “Why me?” Instead, you will be thinking, “Why not me?”
So, you have a reached a place where you are able to acknowledge that you are unhappy and in need of a change. You want to love yourself again but it seems overwhelming and impossible. How do you do it? It is easier than you think to get started and as always Reiki is your friend! Below I am providing a list of different self- love methods that I recommend to people. Try all of them and see which one works best for you. You may notice that you get nothing out of one but that one or two of the other methods create huge benefits in your life. That is ok! Go with what works for you. Also, do not be afraid to tailor it to fit your own personality. Think of each one of these methods as a blue print to make your own. Most importantly please try each method for a minimum of a week before deciding if you think it is working or not. Keep a self-love journal where you can write down any feelings you have each day. Notice which methods create the biggest changes for you and allow you to love yourself again.
Methods to love yourself again with Reiki:
Do a regular self-reiki session. At the start of the session state that your intention is for self-love. This sounds so simple but truly comes with amazing big rewards. After all, Reiki is all knowing and knows exactly how to heal you.
• Color Therapy
You can add color therapy to any self-love method. It is one of my favorite things to do. Different colors have different meanings and different healing properties. Simply, look up what color goes with what you would like to heal online for free. I have also seen many articles covering colors here on Reiki Rays. Although each color does have a known property here is a secret….. the colors can have different healing properties for different people! Really! For example, if you would like to work on self-love did you know that green is thought to be the color to help? When you think of love what color resonates with you? Pink, red or even purple? If you picture pink with love than use pink in your color work. That will provide the easiest vibrational connection for you with the love energy. There are so many ways to experiment with color therapy and I highly recommend exploring them all. Simply visualizing that a color is encircling you and bringing you healing during a self-Reiki session or meditation is a great way to get started.
The possibilities are endless with self-love meditations. You can find so many awesome guided ones for free on youtube. You can also simply sit in a space of your choosing, close your eyes and set a self-love intention. For example, you could say, “I am happy that I am open and receiving self-love. It is freely flowing to me like a magnet. I love myself. I love what I am becoming. I love life and it loves me.” Sit in this space for 5 min. If you’d like to add Reiki to your meditation simply make a Cho Ku Rei over yourself at the start. This will bring in all of the wonderful healing properties of Reiki as well.
• Crystals & Stones
There are so many crystals and stones that bring healing properties into your life. Each one is amazing and powerful. Rose Quartz is known as the stone of love. I recommend looking for this one first and then exploring what some of the other stones may add. When you go to purchase a stone hold a few of them in your hand first one by one. Notice which one feels more powerful to you. This is the stone to purchase. It has the highest vibrational connection with you. You can also make a Cho Ku Rei symbol over your stone and beam Reiki to it for a few minutes. This sends it extra healing power.
You can find affirmations for free online. They are wonderful and can really help to set or change your daily mindset. I can’t say enough about affirmations. I even find myself saying them during my own self-Reiki sessions. An easy way to use them is to spend the first ten minutes when you wake up each morning saying them. This can really have a big effect on your day. You can create your own or you can go online and find some that you think may work for you. Simply type in self-love affirmations in an internet search tool and see what comes up. A few basic ones to get you started are, “I love myself. I love love and love loves me. Love flows to me freely like a magnet. I am beautiful. I take loving care of my mind and body.” The possibilities are endless. To add Reiki in write down a list of affirmations that you like on your computer screen or on a sheet of paper. Next, make a Cho Ku Rei symbol over it and beam Reiki to it for a few minutes. Your affirmations are now infused with Reiki.
• Mirror work
Mirror work can feel a bit strange at first but it can really add a lot of healing to your life. To get started make a Cho Ku Rei Symbol over yourself. Look in a mirror for a minute. What thoughts are you having? Any negative thoughts immediately send to a pretend mental trash can. Next, spend 5 min saying self-love affirmations while looking at yourself. Start with, “I love you!”
Please do not take yourself too seriously while trying out the different self-love methods. After all, you are learning how to love yourself again. This takes time but is very rewarding! Allow yourself to be uncomfortable so that change and the loving energy can come through. Self-love opens all the doors to an amazing life. Have some fun while experimenting and share with others what works for you.
