Busy days, busy evenings – it seems our lives continue to get busier and busier. Although we are told all our new technologies will make our lives easier, a new level of constant communication is creating ongoing bombardments of noise and expectations. Some workplaces expect employees to check their emails and voicemails all evening long and before coming into the office – this is not good work/life balance! Sometimes, we just have to say “no” to these expectations. We have to make conscientious efforts to create peace and silence, and times of rest. Otherwise, weariness and chronic fatigue can overwhelm us.
Another source of fatigue may be making unhealthy decisions, affecting our physical bodies. Eating fast and fatty foods, drinking alcohol, smoking, and not exercising are only a few ways we create low energies within our bodies. Certain diseases and conditions can also rob us of energy. There are situations when we simply have to conserve our energy, choosing to expend it in areas that are necessary and the most meaningful in our lives. However, many of us choose to be “strong” and push ourselves beyond what is healthy for us.
Another source of chronic fatigue is one that often receives the least amount of attention. Fortunately, for our clients and ourselves, it is one of the areas where Reiki can have a large impact. This source is spiritual in nature – it is our need for spiritual connection to the Universal Life Force Energy. When we are disconnected from this Source, our energy systems become depleted and eventually we simply feel tired, all the time.
Often, we have lost focus in our lives and go through the motions of living. We get up in the morning, do our jobs, vegetate in the evenings, perhaps in front of the television. And, then we do it all over again the next day. It becomes difficult to identify what our life purpose is; or perhaps, the thought does not even enter our minds. Reiki can lead us back home, to our true spiritual selves. Living in harmony with life purpose provides us with a well of energy that is never depleted.
The interactional effects of the emotional/mental, physical and spiritual aspects become interconnected with each other, and it can become difficult to figure out the reasons fatigue has overtaken our lives. The healing energies of Reiki can replenish our energy levels, giving us the energy to sort through this. Change requires energy, and Reiki can help us to find the energy to identify and process the pieces of our lives that need to change. Sometimes, it is not really important to identify where it all began, but rather make changes in our present beliefs and circumstances. Because Reiki energies are all-knowing, it can heal us wherever needed – cause and related symptoms.
Reiki brings light and healing into the being of a person with chronic fatigue. Perhaps, for the first time in several years, the receiver feels hopeful. She now has enough energy to make healthy changes in her life. She experiences the unconditional love and support of Source; anything is possible; fatigue is gone. She can find the energy to live her life purpose, creating healing in her life. And, that is the miracle of Reiki.

I’ve been a reiki master since 2003, plus a care giver for my ill husband whom as now transitioned. Am a babysitter for a nearly 3 year old grandchild. I have health issues that cause fatigue. I’ve never been able to handle stress. I do self reiki & meditation when I can. And am still exhausted. In my bible thumping area, there is little interest in reiki. I’m its worked for you to relieve fatigue. It hasn’t so far me.
Dear Linda,
I am sorry to hear that your fatigue has not lifted, but I do think stress can affect every aspect of our being. Is there anything you can do to provide some “breaks” from the things that cause you this stress? Or, learn some ways to deal with the stressors in your life?
During meditation, it may help to ask for guidance in what steps would be the most helpful to you. And, continue the Reiki!
Many blessings to you,
Deborah
Thank you Ms. Lloyd, Yes I am taking more ‘ ME ‘ breaks, even getting out of the house. Am working on doing more spiritual things too. Am needing to feel more connected & not so scattered. Namaste, Linda R.
ps. please excuse the typo’s in my first post. I was overly tired then. …
Dear Linda,
You are certainly on the right track! Keep at it, and I do believe the fatigue will lift, or at least decrease considerably.
Blessings,
Deborah
