Is it Time for a Reattunement?

Article by Deborah Lloyd, Reiki Master

Have you ever wondered if you should seek a Reiki reattunement? Would it strengthen your Reiki energy? What benefits, if any, would you experience? If the Universal Life Force energy is always available to Reiki practitioners, why do some Reiki Masters offer this additional service for Reiki practitioners?

There can be many positive effects to having a reattunement. One possible benefit is the additional healing that can manifest during the process. All attunements, due to the specific intentions and focus of the Reiki Master, always have the potential of bestowing deeper levels of healing for the receiver. Healing is a continual, lifelong process. Reiki practitioners recognize their own areas of needed growth and should always seek ways to increase positive aspects of their mind, body and spiritual selves. As long as we live in the dense energetic field of Mother Earth, among so much strife, greed and negativity, there will be areas to heal.

All of us need to maintain a strong connection to Reiki energies. Just as we take our cars into service centers on a regular basis to keep everything running smoothly, we need to make efforts to maintain clear Reiki channels. Negative thoughts and experiences can “clog up” this channel, eventually decreasing the Reiki energies. Negative thoughts may include doubts or misgivings about Reiki itself, a difficult client or frustration over a slow-growing Reiki practice. A reattunement can assist in removing these doubts and encourage you to remain on your path.

Reattunements then become a recommitment to Reiki. Have you ever wondered why some happily married couples renew their wedding vows on major anniversary dates? Wouldn’t their happy marriages continue if they did not have this ceremony? Most likely, they would. But, these couples are making a strong statement when they renew their vows. They are saying, “I committed my devotion to you 25 years ago, and I recommit my life to you again, with a stronger and deeper love.” Our relationship to Reiki is very much like a marriage! We can recommit to Reiki: “I may have my tough days with you, Reiki; I may have times when I even doubt your existence, or my role as a Reiki giver; I may wonder if I am good enough to do this work. But, I set aside all doubts, surrendering to your blessings.” It is a renewal of how we felt in our first days of living the Reiki path.

Because all of us are human beings, living busy lives in a complicated world, we find ourselves needing to refocus and reprioritizing what is important in our lives. In other words, we have to find balance in our lives, over and over again. We may become overwhelmed with all the tasks and responsibilities that face us every day. We may have to rebalance our energy systems several times within a day, or every few hours.

Taking the time to reconnect to Reiki energies requires intention and action. It would be helpful to ask for spiritual guidance on what method would be best for you at this time. Whether it be through the use of a Reiki reattunement, Reiki self-treatments, meditation, journaling or other actions, it is always a positive experience to re-energize your Reiki connections.
