One of the best ways to use Reiki on a daily basis is with a Reiki box or a Reiki list. This is an efficient way to send healing to several people and situations all at once, in a short amount of time. This makes it possible to treat quite a few people with a bit of Reiki every day over a long period, which can be very helpful for those who are chronically ill or for situations that are ongoing and will need continued treatment over a long period of time.
A Reiki box can be anything that you place the names of those people and situations to be healed into. You could use an old shoe box, a recipe file, an index card holder, or even a simple pocket folder. Use a clay jar or a bowl. You can also use the free Reiki Rays app for your phone. Use your imagination. The idea is to have one place where all of the Reiki energy can be focused each day. One place where you can focus on each name and situation as you send healing energy.
You can decorate your selected box, if you choose. You could place a crystal in or on your Reiki box, as this will amplify the healing energy. You may want to find some way to distinguish it from other items in your home, even if you choose not to decorate it. Something that designates it as a special and sacred place for healing. One thing you could choose to do is to smudge the box to cleanse its energy.
Write a list of names and situations to send Reiki to, or write each name on an individual card or strip of paper, and place it in the box. You could add any situations that trouble you from the news, or world situations that you are aware need healing. You may add the names of loved ones who are ill or going through difficulty, as long as they would consent to receiving Reiki. If you are not aware that they would be OK with receiving Reiki, you may wish to keep a separate list or box for simple prayer. Now you are ready to use it each day.
To use your Reiki box, simply focus your intention on the names and situations that you have on the list in your box and let the Reiki flow to them for several minutes. I usually do this for 3-5 minutes each day.
This really works wonders. Paths to healing and peace seem to open up, sometimes in amazing ways, where none were available before. It seems so simple and so unlikely that it would have an effect treating a list of names for just a few minutes each morning, but I see the incredible shifts that happen each time I pick the practice back up again. There is no doubt in my mind that it works. Give it a try for yourself and see!

I used to believe that a reiki box has to be transparent, now i guess it was a myth..right?
i decorate it by drawing symbols all over the box with a bold marker.is that ok?
and the last question..
how do i make sentences (like in present tense or future..should i use i me n mine etc or “shakti” )
The box doesn’t have to be transparent. It doesn’t even have to be a box at all! It can be anything that you can use to direct your focus to all the situations and people you wish to send healing intentions to. A folder or bowl or the Reiki Rays app for your smartphone all work fine, or anything else you come up with. You can decorate it any way that feels appropriate to you.
There is really no need to make your healing situations into complete sentences, unless you choose to do so. You can simply write down a word that you know represents that situation or person and what you wish to send healing for. If you do wish to write complete sentences, in order to ask Reiki to help you with a goal, you may want to word it as if it is already coming to you or as if you are in the process of obtaining it, like a positive affirmation. Such as, “May I be well and at peace.” or “I am well and at peace.”
hello Angie I am Sheila. Since i tend to forget easily I have a reiki box where I place a small piece of paper asking for Reiki healing rays to help friends with problems. My questions are as follows:
1) Can i write short notes each on different people asking for healing rays. As the requests are for different requirements how do I channel reiki healing to every individual with different problems. I find it difficult as i have to open the reiki box to read what they have requested send healing rays. open the box take the 2nd paper read and do the necessary. It is time consuming as I have lots of requests am i doing it the right way.? Thank you
Hi Sheila, You don’t actually have to open the box or open the pieces of paper, unless you choose to. You can simply direct Reiki at the entire box, with the intention that it be for the benefit of all the intentions inside.
tq you for your advice. it has made things so much easier.
Do you put all three symbols over box/book everyday or do you not need to do this at all
Amanda,
You can use all the symbols, or any one of them, if you feel drawn to. It is not completely necessary to use them. Follow whatever feels appropriate for you. Some days I use the symbols and other days I simply send Reiki.
Thank you Angie that’s very helpful, I’ve just recently started doing distant healing on my Reiki course so any tips I’m grateful for. I love the Reiki Rays page
