Chakras are spiritual energy centers located in our spiritual bodies that channels Universal Life force Energy or Qi/Ki both (In and Out) of our physical and spiritual selves. They are considered both transmitters and receivers of energy. Meridians are energy paths in the body in which Qi/Ki flows through. The idea with both is that one must have balanced Chakras and Meridians in order to be physically, emotionally, mentally and spirituality healthy. A body can get problems in different areas with blockage or instability in any one of the four above areas.
Chakras, Meridians and Nadis
The seven main Chakras are located at various points along the spine. They correlate with various Meridian points flowing along the spine. There are 12 main meridians 6 are yin and 6 are yang. Reiki channelizes the Qi/Ki life force energy through both the Chakras and Meridians. The idea is that the energy travels through ‘Nadis’, which is a Sanskrit word for blood vessel. They are located in the Meridian pathways, which are a network of psychic nerves where the energy spirals in an ascending or descending fashion.
Chakras (Sanskrit word for wheel) are Energy points that vibrate and turn to channel energy into the body and Meridians. Meridian channels follow the same path that the autonomic nervous system does along the spine. This is also where the Chakras receive and transmit the Universal Energy into and from the body.
The body is made up of many chakras that parallel the Meridian paths flowing through the body. The seven main Chakras are connected by three major Nadis located parallel one another. The degree of Chakra and Meridian activity in a person’s body is dependent on the person’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual state of health.
If a Chakra is damaged or blocked, it hampers the flow of Qi/Ki that is channelized into the body through the Meridians. If the Meridians have blockage or low Qi/Ki flow, one cannot be in an optimum healthy state of being. When the Qi/Ki flow is not free flowing and healthy, there is a condition of imbalance in one of the four aspects in the state of being healthy. Balance is maintained when the flow of Qi/Ki is free and strong. When it is weak or blocked; illness and imbalances occur. This is when we find unhealthiness in mind, body or spirit because of a blockage into one of these two areas.

Good way of explaining reiki.
Thank you very much for explaining the theory of chakras and meridians in a very simple and convincing manner. I would like to congratulate the author of this article.

Good article for knowledge gain three nadis are in our body.
I’m sorry but this makes barely any sense. I’m assuming English is not your first language though, so I’ll try not to be too harsh.
But take this one sentence and tell me what’s wrong with it:
“The body is made up of many chakras that parallel the Meridian paths flowing through the body.”
Also the word “channelizes”…
Telling a person they are lacking in language skills and are not able to be understood is already harsh. Perhaps your feedback would be better received if you didn’t diminish the person at the onset? Makes perfect sense to me and English is my first language. Perhaps some flexibility on your part through healing your chakras would be of benefit to you so you can make sense of what the words are saying to you.
This is very educative and informative. This information will go a long way in my personal life
Thanks for the article, do we clear Meridians in the same way we clear Chakra’s or is there another method? Love & Light
Thank you for the information on the chakras. It’s a very good way to heal ourself. Thanks again
Thank you for the information I thought it was very well written, clear and easy to interpret.
Great job sending love and light
Thankyou love the book cantwait to work through it all
Nadi is not a word for blood vessels in my opinion, first off, there are no direct translations from sanskrit to English so your statement is misleading. Second, although I admit to not being any expert on this I am quite certain they simply are different things. Although an energetic function may correspond to a physical function it is not the same thing. Its like people who say a Chakra is a gland when a chakra is non-material. The gland may be the physical counterpart of it but the Chakra is not material. So, Im just saying that a nadi is apart of our energetic anatomy which has a direct counterpart in the physical body, but is not physical. In the same way organs in chinese medicine are not simply the physical organ but the part of the soul that gives rise to and resides in that organ.
Thank you very much for explaining so well. I get it! Our energy pathways are following along or correlating with the physical!
Energy that exists in the metaphysical is still as tangible as that which has already been manifest in reality. It is just existing in potential form. Chakras are by definition energetic vortexes of information and vibration that affect your physical manifestations, so are very much in a state of tangible existence which can be seen as a physical manifestation in a theta wave brain perceptual outlook but not as a physical manifestation by the unconscious eye. It’s a trip to see them manifest if you have the wherewithal and acumen to do so. 🧘🏽♂️🤟🏼💫
Lovely artical, but I want to know more abt meridians. Eager to see your reply viz mail…. Thank u, regards

This article gives little to no information, mixes two different practices and is misleading.
Chakras are from an Indian health system, and Meridians are from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
While the foundations from the two different practices are similar, the person who wrote this seems to have very little to no knowledge of either, giving no information on what Chakras or Meridians are, or that they are from two different systems.
I don’t know what channelizes means, and this muddled article should be disregarded.
As a Qigong teacher who has done some basic study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (yes I have an accredited certificate) and I have also been to China to study a couple of times, I have never heard meridians described as “psychic nerves” and it is incorrect.
This article bastardises two beautiful systems by muddling the two together and incorrect information.
I understand the writer of the article means well, but to publish such articles is why people are getting incorrect information. People with a little information are more dangerous than people with no information.
Chakras and meridians are universal to all humans and each human has their own layer of reality in which they create for themselves. If the information is meant to be a blanket approach to all people, it is the same as the unconscious indoctrinations that exist that yield lower states of consciousness. There is no one right way of understanding these systems except for an individual to explore and test them through their own experience, otherwise it is all just different opinions against different opinions. First hand experience is the truth of your expressions otherwise you are just reiterating what others have done and said in the past about the nature of the topic itself. I know energy meridians exist because I can feel and see them, same with chakras. I have no inquiries into religion or philosophy or a model that has been beset before me. I go based on my experience and the two systems are very much interdependent to a human system regardless of the root from which these systems were bred.
Thank you Very much
