One of the most common things people want help with is insomnia. Often times this issue has to do with something that you need to let go of, are scared of acknowledging, or have not quite accepted yet. Other times you may need help relaxing or you may just plain be over tired! Water is very relaxing for me. I find the sound and feeling of it to be soothing and an amazing aid with rinsing your troubles away and allowing your mind to rest and be at peace. The following is a meditation method that I like to use along with Reiki to help bring a restful night’s sleep to myself, friends, and clients.
Sleep Aide Meditation with Reiki:
*This meditation is a bit different in that I do NOT recommend using a candle. The hope is that you will fall asleep during or at the end of this meditation. Although this is a spiritual exercise you still want to be sure to be safe and not risk a fire.
1. Reiki the room you are in by making a power or master symbol over every wall, window, door, etc. Be sure not to forget the ceiling.
2. Make one large emotional healing and/or master symbol over your bed.
3. Put some light water sounds on low in the background. I do this by simply turning running water sounds on youtube.
4. Lay down in bed and close your eyes. Concentrate on your breathing for about 2 min.
5. Picture that you feel a stream of lukewarm water start to slowly and gently run around you. You can feel it magically and gently running around you starting at your head and flowing down past your feet. It is calming, soothing, and pure. It offers you relaxation and peace. Sit in this space 5 minutes.
6. Next, notice what troubles may come to mind. Notice that the water magically lifts up and gently washes away whatever comes to mind. It wants you to again relax and be at peace. It is urging you to stay in this relaxing state and allow a night of restful sleep to come to you. More and more room is opening up for a restful night’s sleep to come to you. As these troubles float away you sense more and more positivity flowing to you from the magic water. The lukewarm water puts you in a peaceful state. You are neither warm nor cold. You feel no pain. All troubles have floated away. Feel the peace. Stay in this space for 20 minutes.
7. If you are still awake make one power symbol over yourself and give thanks for the relaxation Reiki has helped bring to you.
