Do I really need protection when helping life to be restored? Does a flower, or a tree need protection when it emerges from the deep dark grounds? Does nature or animals shield in the growing, experiential and recovering processes?
The subject of spiritual protection is so discussed in the healing domain. There is no student to not ask about what are the effects of interacting with other’s energy. There is no practitioner to not declare once in his life that he/she feels exhausted after the interaction with other’s energy. And there are also many teachers that recommend doing self-protections against spiritual attacks in the process of healing/clearing someone or a situation.
How do I protect myself when I heal someone? What kind of shields do I have to use, etc.? There are these the right questions?
The spiritual protection contradicts and opposes Reiki from all angles. The second Usui Reiki precept states: “Do not worry”
Worry is a negative emotion, the result of insecurity and fear – that is the ground for growing pain and illness. This worry is damaging both for the client and for the healer, obstructing the free flow of Life and stopping the regeneration process. More, it creates an overwhelming atmosphere of mental emotional tiredness and distress.
We must be afraid when offering a session to someone? Then why we are practicing Reiki, if we are afraid of the communion with others and of Life itself? Being a Reiki practitioner requires maturity and heart openness. Every time we feel the need to shield, we must solve in ourselves the aspects that provoke these negative emotions, otherwise we are unable of channeling pure Universal Life Force…. that is free, light, clean, blooming, expansive.
Looking deeper, we are small organs and cells in the ecosystem of creation, profoundly interconnected, each playing an important role for the other, each supporting the evolution of the other.
The element of fear addresses in fact some of our internal issues we need to solve before immersing correctly in the healing work. The element of fear signals not only personal traumas, but also our incapacity to surrender to the grace of light; our inability to love unconditionally, and our tendency to judge in the process and to be subjective when healing people or life situations.
As soon as we open our hearts in a healing session and all of our life actions, we will realize that the illusion of the psychic attack vanishes. This is the correct approach. Until we learn to be grounded in existence, to self-heal and honor ourselves correctly, of course we will need to maintain basic energy hygiene to prevent our exhaustion after a therapy.
The heart openness and the love in the interaction with others bring the awareness of interconnectedness and the abundance of healing qualities for everyone involved, such as kindness, gratitude, nourishment.
So, consequently, we need to work the Love in ourselves.
In my healing experience, I passed through a plethora of stages a healer passes. I made shields, I get out tired and worried after sessions, I was energetically overwhelmed and also I became ill after healing. I searched for a way to deal with all these and started to take responsibility and look more at my inner wounds in order to solve them so I could benefit the people better. In the process of looking into my pains and traumas, I learned how to Love and accept myself correctly. At that moment, my opened heart was ready to channel and to offer the Healing Light. I noticed that healing someone from a space of kindness, understanding, forgiveness, and love, eased instantly the entire process, getting out of a session energized and light, so the client. Faith and Trust (the opposition of Worry) are crucial for the Healing to take place.
Here is an algorithm that I use when offering healing to someone:
- After activating the Reiki frequencies and inviting the Higher Beings to assist us, I take a moment to open my heart for my client and say silently: “Healing you, I also heal me and all people suffering from these issues. I open with love and forgiveness to your pain and release it in light for the benefit of all humankind.”
- I close the session by offering thanks and gratitude to the Reiki energy and the Spirit Guides.
I invite all the practitioners to simply surrender to the qualities of Love that is the most powerful protection and force in the entire Existence.
