When we are new in any healing system, we are so overwhelmed with the changes we experience. As per my experience, most of the Reiki channels experience a beautiful shift in the energy, more peace and harmony, more loving energies around, better sleep patterns in the transition between level 1 and level 2. Because we see the magick, we want to help everyone. However, this might not be the right approach. As my practice deepens, I have learned a few things which I would like to share.
1. DAILY PRACTICE
It’s very common among many practitioners to stop practicing after 21 days or after few weeks. I have seen many people complaining that Reiki doesn’t work. Then they shift to other modalities in search of quick results. In my 10 years of experience, I have realized, that no result is ‘quick’ or overnight. It took regular practice and dedication to see the gradual shift. Reiki may not give the result as expected however if you are deeply connected, it will bring the truth into your consciousness. You need to build your immunity and knowledge before healing someone else.
2. DON’T FORCE HEALING ON ANYONE
Another important aspect of healing is giving it when it’s asked for. During the initial days, we get so excited about the changes and we keep sending healing to friends or family members or anyone who hasn’t even asked for it or may not need it. Healing does work in every level however one recipient may not even realize it thus there will never be any appreciation. There is also no energy exchange thus people build karmic connections as well. We give suggestions and advice as per our learning/experience that never gets any value as it’s never asked for. Never heal anyone without their consent.
3. DON’T OVERPROMISE
Always remember, we are only channels of Universal Life Force Energy. We cannot or rather we should not manipulate any particular outcome. Reiki may have its own way to heal. You may never know how deep is your need and which level of Reiki is reaching to heal you. If you need an immediate result, you may be disappointed. Heal with an open mind and communicate the same to your recipient.
4. COMMUNICATE WITH THE RECIPIENT
It’s always better to have clear communication with the person you are sending healing. Not everyone has the understanding of Reiki and how it works. Also, try understanding the core issue; accordingly decide on how you are going to send healing. Be patient and respectful. Most people are very scared to open up so if you are practicing Reiki professionally, you may come across several unique cases that might be different in nature from one another. Patience, respect, and compassion are crucial.
5. ENERGY EXCHANGE
Many people ask, if the energy is available, why do healers charge? There are many reasons. I believe it’s to let alone any karmic connections to be created. Also, oxygen is available for free for all of us, so why should we pay for an oxygen cylinder when in any medical need? It’s important to value the time, energy, and knowledge of the Reiki channel/master.
Reiki is one of the most powerful healing modalities that I have come across. It gives you all the answers you need. It guides you the right way. You need to ask yourself, how dedicated you are to your regular practice. Reiki is a continuous journey. Keep learning every day, the more you learn, the more you realize how much you are yet to explore.
