Power of Ten

Article by Reiki Master Sunetra Dasgupta

In India, we have more than 300 million deities we pray to! One of the most prominent deity among them is Goddess Durga. The word ‘Durga’ means the invincible; she eliminates all the miseries and sufferings of the human beings. The most striking part of Goddess Durga is her ten hands in which she holds different weapons. The ten hands of the Goddess has always been a matter of curiosity among people. For me it was always meant more blessings from her!

As a Reiki practitioner we cannot act or be god, but we can definitely try to eliminate other people sufferings and miseries thanks to the universal gift we are blessed with – Reiki.

Inspired by her (Goddess Durga), I tried visualising that I have 10 arms while giving healing to any client and I am healing their multiple chakras/areas at a time, also what I could feel is the flow of the energy was better! I read a similar technique Diane Stein’s Essential Reiki, where she visualises 12 arms from her torso and can give healing to 12 positions at the same time.

I have broken down the steps for everyone’s benefit

  1. Say Attitude of Gratitude.
  2. Visualise 8 etheric Reiki arms growing from your torso.
  3. Place your own and the etheric arms on the clients problem areas or the chakras.
  4. Intend Reiki to flow to the areas.
  5. Feel the change in the energies, you shall also feel the changes in the energy field where healing is happening through your etheric Reiki hands.
  6. Once the healing is done, thank the patient and Reiki and ask the etheric hands to go back to the source.

This technique is very simple and my clients have reported relieve much faster as compared to traditional hands on, where we cover one area/chakra at a time! This healing is very effective when one needs instant relief!

This method can be practiced even in the first level, as it is all about visualisation. Also I have felt that as we heal, it increases the power of our Third Eye, as we heal multiple areas at a time, we can actually feel the shift in the energies. Do try this method and share your experience with us ☺
