10 Tips to Find Time for Daily Practice

Finding the time for daily self-Reiki can be challenging, especially for new practitioners, or busy people who have a lot going on in their lives.

Here are some tips to help you get past that initial stage when new tasks and new things to do seem to just come up out of nowhere, leaving you no time for yourself. After you keep practicing for several days, you’ll find that it gets easier to find the time, and after a few weeks, it even becomes easier to keep Reiki-ing 🙂 than not to.

To find time

Tip 1. Practice before going to bed. If you’re very tired, just go to bed, place a hand on your third eye chakra, and one on your heart, and send Reiki. It’s OK to fall asleep.

Tip 2. Wake up earlier. Yes, it’s challenging, but definitely worth it. Waking up 10-15 minutes earlier and doing 1 minute of Reiki in each hand positions will have a great impact in the long term.

Tip 3. Use the “idle” time, e.g. on the train, waiting in line at the bank…

Tip 4. Send Reiki to yourself or your situation with the intent that you manage to find more time for practicing.

Tip 5. Ask your guides, or your subconscious mind, to help you solve the time problem. Just stay open to any solution – and you’ll be surprised to see how quickly it works :).

Tip 6. Set an appointment with yourself, every day, and make it highest priority. Treat it like a flight you absolutely have to be on.

Tip 7. Send Reiki to your Solar Plexus Chakra – this is the chakra of personal power, which governs the power of your will among others. A strong will will help you find solutions and prioritize things that are important for you, personally.

Tip 8. Find a “Reiki buddy” that you practice together with – it will increase the accountability and you’ll both have a better chance sticking to the schedule.

Tip 9. Place a time-related affirmation in your Reiki box, such as I always have enough time to do everything I desire, for my highest good.

Tip 10. Reduce time spent on other activities, such as TV, internet browsing, facebook, email.

  2. Hi good article, however time is not my problem. I have been attuned to reiki level 1 now for a week and a 1/2, which I am very excited about but find myself questioning the power of it. I have done reiki on myself the cat and my fiancee. I just do not feel anything that allows me to know it is working, so then I question it and get frustrated. Any suggestions? Do I need to just wait?……thanks ……Nikki

    • This may sound contrived, but you must truly BELIEVE. KNOW that you have this ability, that you are an instrument of healing, placed here by the universe to do this work. Ground and open, feel your hands getting warm as you invite the Reiki to “turn on” before you begin. Feel this, know this, believe this. Blessings! Chris

        I actually decided to be reattuned to level 1 last week. So happy to say I feel it more and it has given me the confidence to practice daily. I do however still find it difficult to spend an hour giving myself Reiki. My 2nd teacher who has given me the attunements last week told me a great way to do self treatment is to focus and place hands on each Chakra. Takes 10 mins and seems to be working for me….<3

        • Hi Nikki. Another thing to remember is that when you receive attunements there is a 21 day period where the Reiki integrates into your energy centers. The more you practice the more sensitive you will become to Reiki energy. When I did Reiki 1 I remember feeling doubt in my mind that anything was happening because I couldn’t feel anything at all. It took me giving Reiki to others and getting validation from them to build confidence in Reiki as well as a daily self care practice to build that sensitivity. One reason why developing a daily self practice with Reiki is so important is so that you continue to explore Reiki and yourself to improve your life. So there is an exercise you can try to help you feel Reiki energy, it is very simple and easy and how I taught my son to feel it in his hands the first time. Hold your hands about two inches apart and begin to move them towards each other and away from each other repeatedly but without actually touching. You should feel like a cushion between your hands or a little bit of resistance when you push your hands closer together. You can also try rubbing your hands together for about ten to twenty seconds to warm them up and see if it is easier to feel it. I always recommend to my students to commit to the 21 days and give themselves Reiki for at least half an hour to an hour each day, and they may also give Reiki to others as well if they would like, and then evaluate how you feel about it. When you give yourself or others Reiki pay attention to how you or they feel emotoinally, spiritually, and physically. Do you feel calmer, happier, less stressed out, more energetic, or maybe so relaxed that you fall asleep, or if you were experiencing pain has it lessened, etc. Reiki also heals us in ways we might not immediately recognize, sometimes it takes days to weeks for us to recognize how Reiki is helping us because the Reiki keeps working in you after the session has stopped. It could be anything from thinking more clearly, knowing what decision to make, coming up with a solid plan, etc. So many possibilities so keep your heart, hands, and eyes open and see what Reiki can do in your life.

      I have my level two and I remember my instructor telling me if I was having trouble feeling that the Reiki was working or flowing when I was using it to simply think or say the words Reiki ON and Reiki Off then have faith. After awhile you can feel the difference. And keep practicing

      • My reiki master suggested I use more than reiki on or off because it is such a sacred time, so I say, I invoke the light of the universe,I am a clear & perfect channel light is my guide. I say that 3 times when starting & when i end I say I HAVE invoked the light of the universe, I am a clear & perfect channel light is my guide.

  3. practice Reiki every day for 30 days. With practice you will begin to feel the energy. Your hands may warm up or you may feel a tingling or, as in my case, they may pulse. But just know if you have been trained and attuned properly the energy is flowing. You are simply the channel and you don’t have to feel anything. Set your intention before giving a treatment and call in your angels and Reiki guides to help & work with you. Keep at it and things WILL begin to happen.

    • I am one of the few that have never “felt” Reiki, neither giving nor receiving. I was originally attuned to “traditional” reiki distantly some 15 years ago or more. The desperation to find out if it’s “working” when you can’t feel or sense it is a challenge to overcome. I trusted it was “working” after many successful results with distant healing.
      More recently I’ve been attuned in person to Reiki TUMO for the personal (kundalini) development rather than anything else. Again I was the numb one in the group that couldn’t feel anything with the exception of a prickling pressure around the top of my head during attunement.
      Trust and belief is far more important than feelings to appease the minds need for proof.

  4. I was attuned to level 2 in June, ay first I was practising regularly but now can’t seem to find the time. It’s been two weeks since I’ve practised, I’m going to try tip 5 and ask my guides for help. Thanks for all the tips.

  5. I received my master/teacher attunement in June of this year. For those in doubt, I suggest PRACTICE. Practice on ebeyone and everything!!! The more you use it, the easier it flows & the easier it is to feel. If you can’t find someone to practice on, practice on yourself. I can’t begin to tell you how much it’s helped me personally. I’ve gotten rid of my own headaches, bellyaches & other pains/ailments. I’ve used reiki on my car & even other electronics.
    You have to believe in yourself first & second yiu have to “listen” to what/where you’re being pushed. Chances are if you’re compelled to do seething, DO it. Reiki isn’t an exact science & I’ve even found that not l of the symbols need to be used. It’s all about intent.
    After my level 2 attunemt I felt “broken” & honestly it took me time to rember that I COULD use reiki on myself. It’s something I’ve had to make a habit & now I couldn’t imagine getting through a day without it!

  6. I Reiki myself every morning when I get up. I also put the Reiki symbols into my shower head before I shower. It feels WONDERFUL!
