Dumo is also known as the Tibetan Dai Ko Myo or the Tibetan Master symbol. Dumo means “Take us back to god”. In Usui Reiki, it is taught in the Teacher level. In some places it is said that this symbol was first used by Arthur Robertson who got Raku Kei Reiki system to the west. Later it was adopted in other Reiki styles.

Dumo represents the sacred flame or what is known as the Kundalini. The fire moves from the base of the spine to upwards which we call it the Kundalini Rising. It makes the mind and body one by increasing our vibrations and connects us to the divine essence. It helps us to unleash our creativity and works mainly with the Root chakra. It is also a very powerful symbol which can be used to clear crystals.

Dumo

It revitalizes the energy from each chakra by pulling out the negative energy and purifying the astral channels of each chakra. It also releases blockages from a person or a room whether it physical, emotional or situational. Dumo is used generally for giving attunements, and is generally combined with the violet flame technique.

I personally feel Dumo need not be only used in attunements and through violet flame. I think It can be just used as a healing symbol in person, when they are extremely weak and need to recover quicky as it opens the chakras with a big impact.

  2. I’m appreciating and learning from our posted information…gratefully.
The dumo as shown is a bit confusing to me….how/when does the right side of the “y” shape form and in what order?
